If the sandbox anything goes build works and is fun then why doesnt anyone like the current system? It needs to be changed and there needs to be roles so devs can implement entertaining and engaging battles.

Actually, the armory system was probably the best part about XIV, and from what I could tell, most players agree with me. The addition of jobs was something implied and then outright mentioned by Yoshi-P, and has even more toolbox goodness potential. The battles are unenergized because of the way the battle itself takes place, not the preparation involved.
I love the Armoury System. All I'm really wanting out of the Job System is Titles.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
I am of the opinion that the only reason jobs were even considered for implementation was because the player base was too dumb/suborned/set in their ways/etc to figure out how to do it themselves with the Armoury System. So SE decided that they had to lead the players by the hand to find their defined roles.
Do you seriously believe that? It's like the president of Nintendo blaming the 3DS not selling as well as they expected because "People don't understand the 3D aspect".I am of the opinion that the only reason jobs were even considered for implementation was because the player base was too dumb/suborned/set in their ways/etc to figure out how to do it themselves with the Armoury System. Actually the 3DS isn't selling well because on the box it says "Do not let children play this device it causes Eye Damage."
And no offense but a lot of the English speaking players do not understand the Nomenclature for terms and classes in XIV.

That I do. As it was already said once before, Level gladiator with sword & board, toss on some CON buffs and heals, dump stat points into VIT/MND, grab any and all taunts available, and boom, you're a Paladin, just not in name.
Likewise, Level MRD, throw in absorb spells, bio, drain, etc from THM, dump a lot of stat points into STR, and you're essentially a Dark Knight.
Really, this isn't hard. Why people insist on those classic designations which feign specialization is beyond me.
