    That free month was not included with the expansions when they first came out. (nor was a free month included with Mist of Pandaria for that matter, to include the collectors edition.) It was tack on when they decided to package Vanilla (1.0) BC and Wrath as one product. So you are still only getting 30 days free for the initial purchase, not an additional 30 days per expansion.

    However, you did get 3 free month if you agreed to play and pay for the game for 12month and then bought the CE version of D3. But that was because agreeing to play and pay for a year you were rewarded with a free copy of regular version of Diablo 3. Which if you ask me, FFXIV even with the trouble logging on to servers with low ping, is a better product than D3. They will resolve the FFXIV server log on issues, they will not resolve the D3 end game issues (D3 has been out long enough for them to fix it).

    I understand what you're trying to say, but you are not taking into account players who were able to take part in the open beta, who have already leveled up their characters and would be replaying all of their levels on a Japanese server, only to then be required to pay money for a world transfer. The assumption that SE will offer free transfers has no basis from what I've seen so far. All that SE been done to "make amends" for this is to offer up Yoshida as it's sacrificial lamb in order to deflect the blame from executives and stockholders. You are right, there is a workaround. But it will cost more time and money in the end.

    i live in the united states, i have friends here who have made characters and my wife as well, so really i want to have MY choice, i don't want to make one the the Japanese servers, they don't understand me anyways. so leave that japan server crap out of it as the correct answer.

    whats with all the stupid White knight comments people have a right to be upset mad angry frustrated and many more feeling under the sun
    its really sad that this game has so many problems with there servers on na/eu side because the game is Excellent. at the end of the day people payed for something and they are not able to use it because its broken. even if SE says ok we are looking into the problem the fact remains they can't use what they payed for... now if by chance SE come out and says we know there has been a lot of problems but we will be extending X days of free time then people would have Zero to complain about they won't be charged for time wasted problem solved

    I agree with you that launches are flawed and it does happen, but especially with someone like SE it is always important to voice your opinion or unhappiness. If everyone just shuts up and says nothing they will think it all well and good and the more people still complain the quicker they will work to fix it and hopefully try to keep their customers happy. Where I am happy to wait until things run smooth and have been avoiding the game since Saturday for that reason, I also want SE to know that I am not happy with this and expect to be able to play without issue asap.

    As of today August 27th, I am now what I consider a paying customer. I bought the game. I input CC information into the terrible account management system.

    I can not use the service, and I am feeling that this is wrong, and it is.

    If my telephone stopped working it wold be expected that I would contact support and they would repair the service. They might even tell me I have to wait until the next day. They might even offer compensation. They certainly would not ignore me and not communicate with me.

    If my cable went out.... you get the point.

    We are all now paying customers for a service that does not yet work, and we are frustrated, and we have the right to let our opinions be known.

    I appreciate the freebies, beta was good fun, and early access was a blast.

    Official launch has come and gone and I expect I should be able to sit down and use the service I am paying for.

    You have a right to your opinion, and if your opinion is similar to mine then speak up and let it be known. You may choose to keep quiet knowing the issues will be resolved eventually, and perhaps they will offer compensation for the failure in the service you are paying for. Maybe you will say something on these forums that they probably don't read and it will feel good just getting it off your chest. More likely it will just spurn a flame war.

    I am paying for a service I can not use and I want SE to know I am not happy about it.

    Dat research before posting complaints about non-communication. I will agree that they have been pretty unresponsive to such a huge issue...but they HAVE posted something now...you just need to click a few buttons to find it. I am just as frustrated as others that I can't connect whenever I want at the moment, but the two links you see above are the answer we have all been searching for. Are they going to fix it today? Nope. Tomorrow? Probably not. By early next week? God let's hope so. Whatever the case...They have publicly addressed the issue and there is literally nothing more we can do until they get their crap fixed.

    Actually during the first 4 months of service on WoW the game was down anywhere from 14 hrs to 5 days at a time...frequently. They launched the game expecting 500k subscribers and instead got over a million so they put old diablo servers on duty. Those servers broke repeatedly and badly. Blizzard didn't expand their data centers in the first week it took them months, so yes there have been far worse launches than this.
