You do realize I was being sarcastic when I said there was no one to blame but ourselves, right?so the forum thread still exists! At least there is this location to inform people.
It's just a mater of reading through pages of replies to find it now.

Like you said so well, this WAS a known issue back in May.. and The decided to just turn a blind eye to it thinking this juggling of PS3 accounts and double dipping digital service upgrade would be OK.

i ordered it YONKS ago and read that the item could be used, according to the item description, after that i never read much more into it, i always assumed it would work, i didnt see why it wouldnt, but alas, today proved us wrong!
least SE can do is fix it, i mean really, its not hard!

they did actually post a warning about this back in may through... but only in a purchase thread with over 300 pages of replies.
