I'm pretty disappointed to be honest, I bought 1.0 even after hearing it wasn't ready but I loved XI too much not to. I pre-ordered FFXIV on the PS3 so my wife could get early access and while it was great last night, to be unable to access it today just feels like I wasted my money. I'm not ready to get give up yet but if I can't play before I pick up the game tuesday I will simply get my money back and pass like I did with SimCity.

I have no qualms about anything in the game. The fact that I can't finish my story quest or even log in due to server issues is getting quite upsetting. This was the last weekend I had before my semester started up again. Hope there's a fix soon.

Instead of locking us out they should just close em down and work on them. Though if every server is at max capacity, I think its time for bigger more reliable ones. <_<

Be patient peak time blah blah blah. Fix the damn game!
I been trying all damn day to log in with 2 new msgs talking about patience and peak time and a bunch of shit. If the damn server isn't working shut it down and fix it PERIOD!!!
If this is the type of exp I am to see with this game II may very well stop playing it now! Never been much on rpg as it is and I damn sure not going to pay a monthly subscription to a game that doesnt have enough server space? WTF is that? How do you not have enough surver space to deal with the ppl? did you not take a head ount in beta? Not take a head count on the pre orders? Not take a head count with the 5+ maint you been doing a day? come on this is freaking bs.
Shut the damn game down and get it right dont keep asking ppl to be patient and bear with you. Fix the damn thing and lift the freaking cap on ppl getting into there server!

The dev made a grave mistake by not putting in afk auto logout feature to address population problem. Come 27th, 1.0 players will be coming to have a look and the situation will become worse. What's your answer to this then SE? The right thing to do is to shut the server down and implement whichever fixes that are necessary. Right now we are in the situation of have and have not.

This is Square-Enix. And apparently, Ormuco is involved as well (did some netstat tracking). Possibly they are hosting the data in Canada, wich actually might explain a lot. Their set up certainly looks impressive enough... 1Gb Tier2 colocation connections, massive drive arrays available and all. But... still... that would mean they may be relying on a third party for data hosting in Canada instead of doing it "in-house" at an EIDOS farm (which SE now owns).

On that note.. I noticed I am still hitting JP servers along with the CA one each time I try to log in. So, that may be a large part of what is going on here (as some of us havealready speculated)--there is an issue synching the CA data center to the JP data center.

Might be time for SE to just let go of the global Co-Op goal and just let it be two separate groups. I know, sounds kinda bad to segregate the East and West like that, but that may be what it takes to truly stabilize the situation for good. I'd hate to loose game time with our eastern friends (had quite a few on my FL in XI), but that may be necessary unless SE wants to put everything back in Japan like it was with FFXI.

I wouldn't mind being in an actual queue but this message really pisses me off. "The World is currently full. Please wait until an opening is available and try again." How in the hell are we supposed to know this? Something as simple as letting us queue would be great but we get a half-assed error message. Get it together, Square-Enix.
