Same on adamantoise says to try please wait till a opening how do you know if there is an opening if you don't try ?
This might cause people to suddenly come after me, but I want to get this off my chest.
I played beta phase 3. I was happy with the game. I decided to pre-order it not because I wanted EA (its a nice thing to include, plus the other bonus items) but because I really liked the game and I wanted to play it. I like to preorder things just so I have it and not forgot about it later on down the road.
Now I work. I work 6-7 days a week. I knew that with EA starting yesterday, and I had to work from 4am to noon, I was going to feel like crap all day. I got on Excalibur at 2am this morning, and then I was unable to do much today cause of the madness. Am I upset? yeah. Do I want a refund or to be reimbursed? No. The 3 days of EA are not the game. They are 3 days. Now if shit is still happening after the official launch then I will expect to be compensated for that.
If I got mad at everything that didn't go exactly my way, I would be an angry man. You have to realize when to die and not die on the hill. Its EA. Yes, they shouldn't use this as Beta Phase 5, but they need to fix it. If they can't fix it by Tuesday, then light the torches and picket SE. I will be there with you. This is not the hill (yet) to die on.
Just my two cents. Now on to other games I have, or books. Or spending time outside.
SE should put NA servers in NA, and EU servers in EU...simple, yes? SE cares not for NA/EU players, only JP players as they are a priority and the rest can go to hell...seriously true.
I've tried throughout the day to log on to Diabolos with no luck (1017) and the part that frustrates me isn't that I can't play or that they're having whatever issues. It's that having no afk-log out timer (at least none anyone can seem to hit) was such a large oversight.
It's like SE bought a dog and it keeps crapping outside, but they don't have the common sense to pick up the poop. They just apologize to people coming over, "Sorry it smells like dog poop." And the dog keeps dumping everywhere, and SE keeps apologizing, but guess what? STILL SMELLS LIKE BUTTS HERE AND PRETTY SOON SPOT'S GOT NO PLACE TO POOP.
The other thing is the partial closing of the servers. Why let a handful of people on? Take the servers down and do what you need to do to fix em. Clean up your crap. I'd rather wait to play a functional game than attempt to play bits and pieces of one that's not operating correctly.
I know it's been said before, but not only is it extremely disturbing that they haven't prepared properly for the early access - especially after seeing these issues in a way too short beta test phase - but how are they gonna handle the actual release?
If all servers are almost at max capacity, how are they planning to squeeze in the rest?
Now the Japanese are complaining about EU/NA players invading their servers - to which they will react promptly of course - and in the meantime, a lot of characters start to pool up at instance points (5, 10, 15 class quest, main story aso.) because they cannot proceed. Once the instances work ... they will be swamped with people, happy about being finally able to continue ... and, to SE's surprise, the issues will resurface, everything will start all over again and we will be blessed with another 3-4 emergency maintenances a day.
So, unless they decide to add new servers - this is going to continue to be a disaster until it'll eventually topple into the abyss.
And if they do add servers, they should offer transfers from the current EU/NA servers to the new ones. I'd be willing to go - considering that I don't have a linkshell or anything on my current server that really holds me there.
But all this would still leave one additional problem: They request for us to play on a low population server, however this only works if there is somewhere a population indicator ... which has escaped me so far.
But of course, this is all wishful thinking and in the end it'll depend on SE and whether they consider us a valuable enough income source or not - nothing else.
Siren, oh Siren ... why did you plummet from the heavens like a dying, disease ridden pigeon ... ?

I know everyone is pissed and I have been a victim of most of the major errors so far since P4 with the 3102/Another World glitch and in EA with the 90000 error yesterday. Today I haven't been able to login at all since the 4pm JST maintenance.
I realize how much it sucks and I too would prefer to see them take it all down and fix it before they bring it back online. BUT... these are LOGIN issues... which means that taking everything down would probably be counter-productive to being able to observe these issues in action. That is more than likely why they are severely limiting the logins at this point... to keep it more controlled so they can get a better idea of what's going on.
I do however agree that they should be adding more servers to the NA/EU datacenter... there is no way that for all the players in the NA/EU regions the same number of servers will be enough as those from the JP region. I am almost sure that this has to be compounding the entire issue as well.
Anyways... just my thoughts. I now return to my regularly scheduled login error.
So NA/EU servers are back up. Just tried to get in..just got 1017 error again. Anyone else having it also? ( I just got home so haven't been aware)
Haven't been able to get in all day. 1017 error
Server: Diabolos
Name: Giddeon Alishar
I'm really curious what the average waiting time is before players are able to log in. I've only been going at it for a little over an hour, and I'm already going crazy!
I don't understand why limiting the number of people who can log in to a server has anything to do with removing the ability to queue. I'm understanding of problems and don't mind waiting to play, but having to actively try to log on every few seconds is a waste of my time. If there was a queue and the estimated time was 5 hours I'd be totally ok with that because at least I could plan my time out and go read a book or something. It's also not really fair that someone could get in on their first try, ahead of some unlucky person that's been trying for 10 hours straight.
I don't care if we're given a sympathy gift at the end of this debacle, but I do think that we should be given free server transfers. A lot of people are playing without their friends right now due to server locks and restrictions, and some people are playing on JP servers too. Neither of those things are good for the community.
