I'm pretty disappointed to be honest, I bought 1.0 even after hearing it wasn't ready but I loved XI too much not to. I pre-ordered FFXIV on the PS3 so my wife could get early access and while it was great last night, to be unable to access it today just feels like I wasted my money. I'm not ready to get give up yet but if I can't play before I pick up the game tuesday I will simply get my money back and pass like I did with SimCity.

Character Creation Limitation (Aug. 24)
Hello, this is FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn Producer and Director, Yoshida.

The maximum expected population limit is nearing for each World, and unless the current World simultaneous connection amount decreases, we are unable to open release the limitation.

In case we do release the limitation, there is a high chance that the corresponding World will crash or cause issues, and we are thinking that it will be difficult for us to release it for a while. We please ask you to consider playing in a World that has a low limitation.

We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause and ask to continue with your cooperation.

lmao. this statement is now finally true. all the euro servers are now full and don't accept any new character creation. Also NA servers are almost full on all as well. Go make tons of chars on the japanese servers. I've made 8 on almost all of them

I know it's been said before, but not only is it extremely disturbing that they haven't prepared properly for the early access - especially after seeing these issues in a way too short beta test phase - but how are they gonna handle the actual release?
If all servers are almost at max capacity, how are they planning to squeeze in the rest?

Now the Japanese are complaining about EU/NA players invading their servers - to which they will react promptly of course - and in the meantime, a lot of characters start to pool up at instance points (5, 10, 15 class quest, main story aso.) because they cannot proceed. Once the instances work ... they will be swamped with people, happy about being finally able to continue ... and, to SE's surprise, the issues will resurface, everything will start all over again and we will be blessed with another 3-4 emergency maintenances a day.

So, unless they decide to add new servers - this is going to continue to be a disaster until it'll eventually topple into the abyss.
And if they do add servers, they should offer transfers from the current EU/NA servers to the new ones. I'd be willing to go - considering that I don't have a linkshell or anything on my current server that really holds me there.
But all this would still leave one additional problem: They request for us to play on a low population server, however this only works if there is somewhere a population indicator ... which has escaped me so far.

But of course, this is all wishful thinking and in the end it'll depend on SE and whether they consider us a valuable enough income source or not - nothing else.

Ofc-. made between 3-8 chars on 11 japanese servers before the list became unavailible. Will continue to make more as soon as it comes up. I just skip all cutscene and play to level 4, then make a new char. takes about 30 minutes. But Since I cant get into EU servers, this is the only thing i can do to make the time go

It's been all day. I've basically quit trying to log in. It's either 1017, the servers are full, or you get in queue only to get 10102 you lost your connection to the server host. Let's toss in some 1016's, 90000's and a few other ones.

Too much load on the servers means there are not enough servers. I know that is a bad solution, to just add servers, but I would like something a bit more than the updates we've been getting. I'm not "occasionally" being disconnected or not being able to log in. It's about 30 attempts, and it's been all day.

Worst part, my cousin, who is using my internet, who lives in my living room in a one bedroom apartment, is sitting there playing FFXIV and I can't! He'll play tomorrow when I got to work. And when I got to sleep tonight. It's just annoying. Just fix the problems, let us play the damn game. Hell, just get rid of the instances for a while, or put a huge timer on them. Something. Anything but locking a sizable amount of people out of the servers.

This game has been broken during the whole "early access".. Here is the thing that really gets me worked up.. In game I will say something like where do you buy a lvl1 conjurer weapon so I can try conjurer.. And people will start telling me to go to the conjurer guild and I will tell them I cant make it there on foot safely and the quest/instances to finish the main storyline to get on the airship is broken.. So they in return keep telling me to finish the storyline quest to get on the airship.. Its like wtf??!! So I am so frustrated by the game and the morons telling me to do stupid crap. I shout out ITS BROKEN.. Making me look like the bad guy.. So the FF fanboys start going on and on trying to defend the game and calling me out for being a whiner.. Telling me to craft til they fix the game.. SOrry but not everyone finds crafting fun...

So now today the game is broken again.. lol what a shocker. So yesterday I bring up the fact that the game has been out for years. OMG inc FF fanboy defense force: white Knight edition.. Its not the same game!! Its all different!! Everything is new!!! Even the engine is new!!! All the quests and storylines are new!!! All the classes and races are new!! Which is complete BS... The servers and engine shouldnt be so buggy at this point!! I mean they have been working with this engine for how long now? Its no wonder that they didnt want anyone to stream this game and still dont want anyone to stream it..

And the update is that the issues have indeed resurfaced, so rather than bring the servers down and fix it, you just leave it and piss people off more adding "more severe" limitations to log in. How the hell do you see that as fixing anything. You were on the way to recovering from the 1.0 debacle, but really now you need to be in recovery mode to keep people. I'm getting to the point where I've very little faith that things will be different, considering none of the so-called solutions have been real solutions. And the fact that you guys just leave it this way instead of bringing things down and trying to resolve the problem is idiotic at best. Do you really think the "severe" log in limitations is making it any better? Sure, some people can play, but the numbers of those who can't are steadily growing, thus the issue is obviously getting worse. Limitations aren't fixing it, so you need to do something other than stand there like a deer caught in headlights.
