    Other 'planned/leaked' classes.

    Please Square, if you are going to release classes in the future, please don't get rid of the ideas that were leaked through the data bits.
    Flayer (whip), Fencer (rapier), Stavesmen (Staff)... I mean you don't see those types of weapons in many mmo's damage dealing wise.

    My Miqo'te needs her whip now so I can be cat-woman

    If they do add them, I'd assume it would be after the class/battle system revamp.

    Well it had Arcanist, Muskateer, and Shephard on it and those are basically in game already. Only time will tell lol

    Yeah i hope they add whips and rapiers. That would ... for lack of a better word... totally pwn.

    I hope they scrap all of those unless you build a RDM from components of gladiator plus fencer instead of levelling it. They're not FF, and they're completely generic sounding which is a major problem with this game.

    How generic can you get...stavesman.

    The classes are supposed to be generic. They're just tools to allow you to make the class you want.

    Indeed, and with Yoshida's plans you can specialize further into some non-generic class afterwards.

    They shouldn't scrap any of those, they all sound like pretty fun template classes.

    I don't think they should scrap them. You said yourself, you wouldnt mind it if components from different classes would build jobs, well that could very possibly be what the job system Yoshi-p speaks of.

    I'm not going to level a generic-ass fencer to 50 and glad to 50 to play red mage, and having the ability to level "template" jobs to 50 alongside FF archetype jobs screams imbalance and painfully role-less jobs and redundancy.

    I just don't see this generic old path fitting with the new one very well unless Monk isn't even a job you level up on.

    They're going to have a hard enough time finding real purpose to these old generic jobs once Classics show up without adding 10 more generic ones. It's simply not fun levelling a template and a no-name no-lore generic MMO creation.

    I am sure no director in his right mind, would ever force a player to obtain lvl 50 in TWO jobs just to he can play something all over again.
    Take a look at tactics, they require little time in different classes.
