    Green magic never existed, let alone green mages, until Final Fantasy XII came out. If there was a green mage class, it would be too restricted in its abilities and wouldn't be a decent fighter all by itself.

    FFXII listed green magic as spells like Protect and Shell, Silence, etc., which all traditionally fall under white magic, some under black magic (like Blind...was that green magic in FFXII? can't remember too well).

    Personally I think people should let go of FFXI. Let this game flourish or faint on it's own.
    I have not played FFXI and it's pretty annoying to see these FFXI veterans who think they have special rights in this game or the forum.
    Just wait for the job system to come first and let them come up with new ideas instead of recycling the old ones. Maybe it's for the better, who knows?

    actually your right, they called it green magic in 12, in 6 is was actually called effect magic, but yeah rdm was only the master of status spells in 11.

    So you fight with billboards? [about a true sentinel class, with two-handed shields]
    At rank 1 maybe, if the developers have no creativity. At rank 20+, you would get crazy, highly fantastic, cool looking "billboards" (to use your word). It's ok, I understand this class would not be for everyone, just like the current classes are not for everyone anyway (in term of tastes and game play).

    I'm not knocking the class, I'm just not sure how to make a two handed shield feasible in combat, Or what would keep a mob attention focused on it without silliness.

    And hey, that the classes are not for everyone is why we can have so many of them!^^

    Again, Peregrin in my system there is no Pre-reqs for Leveling a Job. There is nothing to level on the Job. The Job just dictates what type of specialization you chose. And gives you bonuses for staying on that path.
    I dont care what path they take as long as i can see some of the classes i love added i'll be happy.
