    the feedback thread

So far no one has really giving feedback on some of the changes. Most posts are now about well the devs not talking, yoshida not talking, and why the game is or isn't like such and such.
making this thread a place where people can give feedback on changes to the game. like how do you like the new icons, how are the battle effects sizes?

these are stuff devs want us to talk about. Just be polite in saying your like or dislike and give an idea to fix it, if you dislike something.

Also do not fight with others on opinions. please and thank you

i'll start from a few pics and vids I've seen I think the effects sizing is much better, maybe add a few tweaks to a few effects. But over all I'm happy.

Same thing with the new icons. They look much better, it adds a game feel to the game. A game should feel like a game. I like the addition of the levels, It will help make picking targets easier. I much rather pick targets I know I can kill, rather then guess and have to run away like a scaredy cat.

Aggro Icons: Hated them at first, turned them off, never looked back.

Spell-effects resize: Still the same ugly spell animations, now just more in your face.

Mob-Resize: Helps you to appreciate the detail on the smaller mobs. Bigger mobs are just ridiculous now.

Targetting: Still don't know how the hell it works, but i seem to be able to click through my name now which helps me from not highlighting myself 90% of the time.

New Quests: Some of them are quite cool, such as the one where you have to track Amaalja. Also it's good to see SE kept the semi-instance style of play where you can still see players in their semi-instances. They aren't spectacular, but they give you something to do if you're bored.

Company Quests: Can't remember what I did at all... so maybe not such a good sign.

New NMs: Fun mid level content. No issues. Cactuar Jack is a good challenge if you are duoing.

While I did enjoy "reading" the dialogue from the new quests with all the buzz about Companies and the "incoming threat" I hope that down the line they add little cut scenes to them to drive the story a bit better. I know it may seem like a waste of dev time because most current players will have already done them but I am thinking of the new players that will be joining us and it would be better if they flowed a bit better.

That goes for the all the story missions as well really the whole thing needs looking at and tweeking to get the flow right. SE and Final Fantasy are supposed to be renowned for their stories which the story is great (eventually^^) they just need to work on the delivery of it.

And not just cutscenes, but they should try getting some voice-overs too, if it's possible. I'm sure they can hire some cheap voice actors, I mean, it's not that hard. In general, the story is good, but you're right, the delivery is quite bad/rushed.

thank you for the good posting so far. I'm pretty sure as the game gets bigger cs will be added to quests. And storylne quests will happen more often. I saw a few quests on youtube, but couldn't read the text. I did like how well the npc movement was.

Personally the my fav cs is where the gardlean judge comes out and start using the gunblade and the miqo'te from the LL intro pulls a matrix movie of stoping the bullets but firing them back. I was like OOOooooOOooo.

I also LOVE the motion capture they used for the game. Very fluid motions which are to me, pleasing to the eyes. Unlike ffxi where you see a few ticks in the movement as I call them. Where you can tell it looks forced.

Like in ffxi if you see the elvaan females run watch the legs and you see for a .5 sec a jolt in each leg. Like someone is pulling on the leg to force it to move.

Yeah the R46 mission saved the story for me, it's not that the story is bad just the delivery. Silly things like for example in that very cut scene (R46):

    *SPOILERS*

When they are walking along and they don't notice all the dead people around them until they are stood in the middle of them. It would have been better if they could make them out lying on the ground from a distance away and then ran over to them and then let the epicness that follows carry on.

Another example is one of the new quests added which you gather 5/6 stones for someone in the CON guild so that they can communicate with the elementals or something. You get the stones hand them over (this is all done in a text box) and then they say they stones broke when they tried to use them and that is a bad sign. It would have been better to have a little CS where you hand them over and you saw the person try to use them and stones shatter instead of just standing there and reading about it. Doesn't have to be some huge extravagant CS just a little something to show what is happening and help the story along.

Aggro icon: love it! That is one thing I enjoy finding out the easy way.

Mid-level NM's: To promote strategy and partying, need to make the NM tougher, geared for a full party capped at say 30. So 50's can't just come along and solo it for friends. The low drop rate is very annoying even with frequent repops.

Battle: AUTO-ATTACK please! Then let's go from there.

thanks again for the posting. I wouldn't mind seeing vanity clothing shops for those who like to role play. Kinda what Aion has. Would be good for a gil sink. I think also Market ward retainer placement could be a tad more organised.

-I love the new icons with the levels.

-I love the new quests. The storylines are interesting, and most of them seem to have direct bearing on the lore rather than the dozens of throw away stories in other mmos. I love it when they are instanced best, but I like them all.

-I like the new resizing of spell effects. I'm hoping they will do more than that in the future, but this is ok for now. They could slow them down just a bit, and that would help even more.

-I'm not sure I like the resizing of the mobs. At the very least, I think they overdid it. Those yucky Sand Yarzons tower over my head lol. In any case, I very much appreciate the detail on this game.
