So 1.0 owners have to start paying the monthly fee immediately?

What I need is a community that can register thought, digest it and respond accordingly, not regurgitate the same thought process over and over without any hint of progression whatsoever.

EDIT: Hey what do you know? You CAN post something worth the typing effort! A 2 week welcome back is what they usually do normally for any old MMO, what they have done already for both XI and XIV at certain times.

It's cool, but it's not special, and it doesn't seem like a very big gesture to entice those 1.0 players that are non FF fans. WITH phase 4 along with that though it becomes a better deal, and that's pretty much what we have to sell people on now.

We're not worried about the current XIV community, we're worried about those that are floating outside unsure of what they will find at the launch of ARR. I just hope the game wows enough that it brings in a lot more people regardless.

Look, the truth of it is, chances are that people who are not impressed by what they've seen or heard about from the information that was given or what they've experienced from the alpha or beta are likely NOT going to subscribe to this game. And even so, if they decide to come back ad give it a go, they do have the retail version of the game, so should they ever change their mind, they don't have to pay out the wazoo to do so. And the two weeks of free trial really isn't that bad a deal. No, it's not a month, but it should be a substantial amount of time to decide whether or not the game is for you.
