Hey man I like the meme thread, it's actually less redundant then the debate threads.Welcome to the FFXIV forums! Allow me to show you around!
...and over here, this is the thread where people from both sides of a debate try over and over to express their obvious opinions by saying many things repeatedly with a few different twists every now and again. Now if you'll follow me, I'll show you where you can find memes! Lots of them!![]()
If people don't read there emails or go to the website and miss out of something. Then the only person to blame is themself it's not SE issue that they miss out of legacy lol or beta4.
I think the legacy campaign work just fine people just did not care to read the 5+ email they said so sadly it on them![]()

That's kind of a stubborn way of looking at it. SE should be screaming this information about the welcome back campaign and phase 4 on the fricking roof tops, give the news to ALL gaming sites they possibly can, market the information anywhere on the web they can and so forth. If people don't read there emails or go to the website and miss out of something. And maybe they will in due time, I really hope they do, so far this past few weeks all we've got in some seriously messed up and convoluted information.... As usual. I thought SE was turning a new leaf in their communication department, and yet. Here we are.
How is that a stubborn way of looking at it? SE post this everywhere even gaming website put a link up to look up the information about legacy. I just don't see any other way to make sure people understand. At the end it up to the people to go to a gaming site or google final fantasy xiv to get information or check there emails. The people who really bitch about legacy are people who never look at ffxiv again and when someone told them about legacy and all the good stuff there getting it was too late by then. That's kind of a stubborn way of looking at it. SE should be screaming this information about the welcome back campaign and phase 4 on the fricking roof tops, give the news to ALL gaming sites they possibly can, market the information anywhere on the web they can and so forth.

i'm not trying to be stubborn i just giving the fact that SE did post it everywhere and they do what they could. But i agree when beta4 is about to start they should post it everywhere make sure it will known in many gaming site to bring back new and old FFXIV players.

Haven't they already sent a "strong message" by allowing those who already have the game to not have to pay to upgrade to an entirely different game, as well as allowing a 2 week free trial to those exact same people? Again, it's not all the bonuses we want, but it's a helluva lot. Sure, I'd love a month of free trial. But my "disappointment" is more about me definitely wanting more if I can get it than it is about SE actually making a bad move on their part. People who are on the fence about whether or not they want to play the game get their free trial to decide, as well as don't have to pay for the game. That's not bad, Abriael. Not bad by any means. Sure, hey can always give more, but like I said, even bonuses to customers have do have some sort of balance to them. I, personally, don't think offering two more weeks would make much of a difference anyway to 1.0 owners.Again, what "we" have got is irrelevant. We are already in the bag.
There's no "giving away too much" when a company is trying to get back trust it squandered, and Square Enix did exactly that. This is what boggles my mind of this. People that think that "giving too much" to customers is a bad idea. The more you give, the more you'll receive back, unless of course you go to extremes, but we aren't talking about extremes here.
Two weeks more of gameplay would definitely not influence Square Enix negatively, but would send an entirely different, and much stronger message. Strong messages are good for marketing, and marketing is good for sales.
You continue to measure the perks to yourself, which is fallacious. You're here, which means you're already hooked, like pretty much everyone else here. Those perks have to be measured with people that think that FFXIV was pretty much the worst MMORPG of the history of the genre.Haven't they already sent a "strong message" by allowing those who already have the game to not have to pay to upgrade to an entirely different game, as well as allowing a 2 week free trial to those exact same people? The message they're sending with a "welcome back" campaign is "hey, come back and try the expansion/evolution of the old FFXIV", which is really not the best message to send to those that thought that the old FFXIV sucked.
Giving exactly the same stuff you give people when they buy a new MMO (game + one month) sends an entirely different and much stronger message: "hey, come and try this entirely new game, that we're giving you for free because we screwed up with the previous one. We're aware of that, so we scrapped it completely and we're giving you a new game to make it up".
Different message, different effect.
