So... where does Hvinire clearly state that?
All Hvinire says is that people who already owned 1.0 don't get 30 free days of play. That's about it. I'm really not trying to be condescending or anything, I just don't get what you guys are getting at.
Yoshida himself said that in the second to last letter from the producer.Phase 4 doesn't lack features. It is the full game. We will have access to all the areas that will be avialable at launch. We will have content for all levels. Where did you get this funny idea that phase 3 only has quests up to level 20? Phase 1 and 2 already had more than that.
Phase 4 of the beta will lack Arcanist and Summoner, again as stated by Yoshida himself during the latest letter live, and all the related content.
Yoshida himself encouraged us to bring criticism, and I'm doing exactly that. I know very well that yes-men and white knights are only damaging for the future of a game.Abriel, seriously, if you're so upset about this, than quit playing now and go find some other game. Speak with your wallet at SE abotu how much you hate them for duping you out of $10. Cancel your preorders. Let them know just how mad you are. If you can't look back at what you're writing and see how over-the-top it is, then that's only more proof you're nothing more than a troll.
No, by the definition given by the whole industry. Early access and free trial are different things. Early access is a privilege given only at certain conditions before launch. Free trial is free for all, after launch.
I'm not writing an article. But you know what they say when someone resorts to attacking someone's grammar? That he's out of arguments. Nice job, you just demonstrated that....and nice job with the run-on sentence, mister journalist.
That is the only thing missing. So what? its all the better, everyone iwll be on equal footing with that class. I consider this a good thing.Yoshida himself said that in the second to last letter from the producer.
Phase 4 of the beta will lack Arcanist and Summoner, again as stated by Yoshida himself during the latest letter live, and all the related content.
black knights that rage for no good reason aren't any less damaging for the future of a game.Yoshida himself encouraged us to bring criticism, and I'm doing exactly that. I know very well that yes-men and white knights are only damaging for the future of a game.
You aren't bringing constructive or otherwise reasonable criticism. You are raging and QQing, throwing some technical jargon into your posts to make it sound less like that. "Industry standard" my foot... you don't even know what you're talking about, you are basically pulling that out your behind.
I'm no white knight. I've been quite vocal about some things I think should be changed, just as much as I have voiced how happy I am with other things. This falls under the category of "gimme a break, the original game was free for most of its existence, the alpha was free, the four phases of the beta are free, the early access is free, and new customers get a 30 day free trial on top of the free that came before that, as is typical in subscription MMOs. Yoshida himself (since you like citing him so much) told us that the 4th phase of the beta was essentially a free trial (whereas the first 3 phases were/are more genuine testing phases)
And if you're using this brand of attack, you're just as short on arguments yourself.I'm not writing an article. But you know what they say when someone resorts to attacking someone's grammar? That he's out of arguments. Nice job, you just demonstrated that.
there is no hard line, clearly defined industry dictionary definition of these terms. We can sumise that they are similar by definition of the words that comprise their phrases. The only true difference between the two phrases is that the latter doesn't necessarily apply in advance of something (But, it also doesn't explicitly mean that it can't).No, by the definition given by the whole industry. Early access and free trial are different things.

lol Yeah, it's kind of how we got stuck with 1.0.
Also, I still don't see anywhere where it's written that any of the PC's beta phases count as the free trial phase for PC users. Am I overlooking it? Seriously, what the kupo?![]()
I'll be happy to dissect that.
FFXIV:ARR includes 30 free days of playtime with purchase for new accounts.
As in, the bonus included when you purchase ARR. A completely unrelated topic.
However, even though players who own FFXIV Version 1.0 will receive FFXIV:ARR for free, this does not include the 30 free days of play.
As in, "the" bonus mentioned above. There is no reference to any other perks, merely the purchase exclusive bonus.

Lol, there are few journalists out there that covered FFXIV (actually i'm quite sure there's none that did more in terms of coverage) more than me and praised A Realm Reborn more than I did.If he's a journalist, he's the worst behaving journalist I've ever seen- the most unprofessional, the most immature. If he's really using this to write an article about how bad FFXIV is... well, nobody's going to trust an article full of that level of falsehood and nonsense.
This doesn't mean I won't criticize when it's warranted.
Oh please, do quote where I said that Free trials are only a week long. Please, quote me if you can.Actually, that is what you said. Keep backpedaling! Also, you know nothing about industry standards. The industry never wrote a rule that says "early accesses or free trials should last X days and not more or less."
It's not the full game. It's a beta, still in the phase of refining and testing, lacking the game's full content.
Too bad that in 90% of my posts my outlook on the game is extremely positive.black knights that rage for no good reason aren't any less damaging for the future of a game.
You know, balanced people praise when it's warranted and criticize when it's warranted. And that's exactly what I do.
There isn't much constructive to say about a complete 180. The only constructive suggestion I can bring is to revert the decision to make good of their initial promises and give a better chance to try the game to the skeptics that left 1.0 and aren't willing to pull out the credit card before they can appraise the quality of the new game. You aren't bringing constructive or otherwise reasonable criticism. You are raging and QQing, throwing some technical jargon into your posts to make it sound less like that. "Industry standard" my foot... you don't even know what you're talking about, you are basically pulling that out your behind.
You don't see it because it's stated nowhere. They're pulling it out of their rear to justify SE, and ignoring your question because they don't have an answer.

The trial comes in the form of open beta really.. All 1.0 account holders will have access to the game by that stage - and if you don't like it by then - then it's pretty set that you won't like it at release.
