Thank you. At least some folks have eyes.

Wait a minute, I re-read the document, and if anything it means the people who wrote it said that we should be getting a free trial of the game while PS3 is going through it's closed beta phase. It doesn't say anything about the PC version going through a free trial stage during it's beta stages. In fact, if anything, it states a free trial stage given to players before the "official" release of the game.
Still absolutely nothing about beta being counted officially as the free trial period for PC players. Oh well...
I know, why won't that Abriael guy quit it?
Obviously the timeline he is using as evidence shows free trial as before OR the same release day as PS3 beta. That makes his whole argument fall apart, unless he ignores that official detail.
Edit: not to mention it is all subject to change.
Okay, well
Yeah, that is also worth mentioning.
/thread.
According to the Square Enix Defense Force they went out of their way to call the PC beta "free trial", while calling the PS3 Beta "Beta". Which is obviously ludicrous, because it lacks any kind of communication consistency and clarity, and doesn't address the fact that you can't offer a "free trial" of something that is already free, and betas are free for everyone.
Timings have changed all over the place, so they're pretty irrelevant. What's definitely relevant is that they call the PC free trial a "free trial" while they call the PS3 beta a "beta", which completely destroys your argument, and obviously shows that the PC free trial isn't a beta.
Unfortunately for you, a thread isn't closed just because you say it is. As much as you'd like it very much, I'm sure./thread.![]()
Are you the developer?According to the Square Enix Defense Force they went out of their way to call the PC beta "free trial", while calling the PS3 Beta "Beta". Which is obviously ludicrous, because it lacks any kind of communication consistency and clarity, and doesn't address the fact that you can't offer a "free trial" of something that is already free, and betas are free for everyone.
Where is this supposed MMO developer rulebook you seem to be quoting?
If SE calls it a trial, its a trial.
That's the part that's so freaking confusing! What the kupo are they talking about!?According to the Square Enix Defense Force they went out of their way to call the PC beta "free trial", while calling the PS3 Beta "Beta". Which is obviously ludicrous, because it lacks any kind of communication consistency and clarity, and doesn't address the fact that you can't offer a "free trial" of something that is already free, and betas are free for everyone.
Beta is beta, free trial is free trial. They're not making any sense! It just... (sigh)...
...Brb, I'm going to get some Advil.
Unless it's a beta. Then it's a beta. Let's call a thing a thing, eh?
Also, I still see no evidence of them calling the beta period the official free trial period for PC users.
