The names of my characters aren't changing but then again, I named my Lala with the naming conventions in mind and my Rogy's name has personal significance to me. =]

I really like this kind of lore to draw from, but my FF14 characters are based on my FF11 characters, which really aren't very dissimilar from the standards for these races. If I played a Galka with a Hume name, I would "translate" it to Roegadyn(sp?), but in practice, I play two Humes with fairly Hume-ish names anyway. The fact that they draw a little more from Italy or west Asia keeps to the general idea while being somewhat unique.
I'd leave mine as is, because there's a whole other naming convention from something else behind it.
However! Mules and alts... fair game![]()
Hell yes, my husband and I so hope they let us change our names!!
I want to have a awesome Highlander name ^_^
Actually, no. My name's German so I'll just change my back story to that I was found by Highlanders in a shipwreck off the coast of Ul'dah. Named so in an attempt to emulate the translated naming conventions as they understood it.
There back story done. Now I can role play like a real boy.
Lol thanks, my real name is something radically different. But I still appreciate the sentiment.Sniffle...sniffle...Visenad sounds like a believable last name, given that it is also a believable village name. I love the sound of it. I also have secretly adored your name as a whole for some time now (okay, for like, two weeks only), but didn't see a proper place to mention this.
Jacien is also a surname, as well as a first name. Just thought I would mention it.
That is to say, don't change your name.If nothing else, your mom or dad could have been bad at spelling, meant to name you Jason, and ended up with Jacien instead (or the person who was supposed to record your name misheard it...there are so many possible explanations for the variance!).
I don't plan on changing it at all. In fact, I'm keeping my character as close as possible to my 1.0 version. Maybe just a slight change in hair color (the tone of red).
Sorry, I didn't realize, but my post made it sound like I was referring to the name Jacien Visenad as if it WERE your legal name. I didn't mean to convey such -- my apologies. The yous and yours were meant to be directed at the character, not you personally. This is where one and ones are supposed to come in.Silly me.
Also, I am pleased to hear the you are not changing your character's name.
Now, back to my regularly scheduled despair over my name...
Edit: I am changing my hair to black and white, to be closer to my true (OOG) hair color (it is only marginally salt and pepper...but one day it will be Foxclon-worthy. I do aspire!)
This is the funniest thing I've read all day. I'm sure there were torturers who got to utilize this. Can't help but think of the end of Braveheart.
This makes me think that Highlanders and Roe's should actually be bros with each other...Actually, no. My name already fits in perfectly with the rule of Plainsfolk Lalafels, though unfortunately I am Dunesfolk, and I don't feel like changing races, so I might just leave it as it is. It doesn't stray too much from Dunesfolk rules, though, but it isn't perfect.
