The more I think about it, the more I feel myself swelling with unfounded optimism.

It's not being implemented until B3 because it's not finished yet, not because there's nothing to test! It's just going to be centred around Limsa, that's all.

Centred around Limsa... Means... THE SEA.

So I'm *sure* a group of 4-8 FSH will sign up for the fishing minigame, wherein they embark upon an ocean-trawler, head out into a 30 minute instance out at Indigo Deep, where they have to work together to keep control of the boat in stormy seas, avoid (or fight!) Sahagin, drop their nets (yes, NETS! none of this fishing-pole crap) and even go diving for treasure (though water-based movement will come in the third patch, not at launch) until the time is up, at which point they haul in their vast catch and head back to the Guild for huge XP and gil rewards, with a chance of extra treasures being caught up in the wash.

:P Maybe you should be leading the charge. I've been wanting my own little sailboat for fishing in XIV for ages now.

Even in 1.0 fishing was just a matter of going to a specific spot, and gather specific fish; with a tedious mini-game involved.
Fishing can be exciting!, fishing can be a competition!
What we're asking for is something more than the boring tedious mechanics of 1.0. If your not convinced there are many games out there that have fishing in them that are far and away better than either of these systems.
