Why do people want solo play in an MMORPG?

I don't want another 1.0 explosion where there is no group play.

Wait, we already established that the end of 1.0 had a good balance.

Not till the end of 1.0. ( last year) before that was Mostly solo.

Since it's the same team why cant we infer that 2.0 would share these solo vs group characteristics?
