Thing is: You don't have to say what is already given to you. You wouldn't say "I prefer to play solo" in an MMO where solo play is dominant and the only true group content is crappy end-game because they only designed PvP to be worth a damn.
*not supposed to*? you could hunt wildlife for food and leather/fur etc. Practice archery on live targets. Everyone start somewhere. Only challenge marmots would offer, is hitting them.
I think XIV can and does. Some people only have a few hours of playtime a day and want to get some stuff done without waiting for their LS to group assemble for a raid.
They want to log in and get stuff done right away and be free to leave on a whim.
Other people like to sit in town and chat for hour upon hours either killing time or waiting for a raid to start.
Why can't a game accommodate both?
What ppl don't like is the waiting aspect of forming a group. While playing solo might not be a waiting period to get something done.
Ok... so who are any of us to tell anyone else how to enjoy playing a game? You want to play solo, more power to you! you want to play in groups, more power to you too!
To become elitist on how to enjoy a game is beyond ridiculous.
Well we know we are going to have a huge flood of quests - at least from trailers a lot of them appear to be solo able.
But also Yoshida has mentioned level dungeons - so I think we can look forward to leveling in a group still, at least as an option.
Though I havent seen these level dungeons or at least I havent seen how they are considered "level dungeons".
