Fun fact: Curaga was only AoE only (or full party in terms of the single player FF games) in XI.
Cure/Cura/Curaga (aka Cure 1/2/3 up until 8) tended to be both single target and full party spells depending on what you toggled for that cast.

Fun fact: I've played other Final Fantasies other than XI. It's an easier system than having to switch aoe on/off hence the suggestion with nothing else better to call it.

It's really that hard to make a macro or tap a single button before casting? I've never had such issues and I never heard any complaints up until today. Why does everything have to be "easy" and XI-like?

Not difficult, just annoying. It wouldn't make it easier either, just less stupid.
