SE needs a age to compete with other MMOs, just having the option to do the voice chat without the third party software would be great.

All of the oh I don't have the software let me install it or I cannot connect what were the settings again? Plus PS3 players would really benefit from it. I bet they will get the voice chat requierd, oh you don't have it? Sorry cannot use you in the party.

If you having that kinda conversation while farming darklight, might as well get a static that already have one installed. Plus, PS3 players might already have smartphone to accommodate this

With having regional servers the bandwith is not going to be bad and it does not have to be ready by release but it would be a great improvement in the social and party aspect of the game.

Says you. Not that I dont trust you, but additional bandwith is still additional bandwith. Not everyone have great connection. and please dont tell me to get myself a better connection

I still think this is gonna turn away a lot of ps3 players away arguably the dumbest decision they made for ps3 players. Pretty sure once the ps3 players get vocal on the forums they may have to change their mind.

i wouldn't either, im not about to type 3000 word's just to explain a single stage of a fight. if your really that shy or anti social all you need to do is listen in.

id only vote yes if SE decides to house a separate server for VoIP, otherwise the strain would be too much on the servers.

SOCOM for PS2 has voice chat. The PSP and PSVita also have built-in mics plus include the ability to run Skype (which is replacing MSN). There are various gaming headsets for the PS3 as well. So the PS3 obviously is more than capable at voice chat. Why wouldn't it? There are as many headset's for PS3 as for PC! Take a look yourself.

The *REAL* issue is, not everyone wants to get a headset. Not everyone wants to do what's necessary for it to work properly. And, not everyone speaks fluent English as may have a harder time being understood.

The only time I've found voice chat useful is when it's just me and one or two other people. Even when in a group of 20, I don't need to hear everyone in the group. Just the people in the group I enjoy talking too. For everyone else, I just "text" them instead of ringing them up.

It's easy for ps3 players to use voice chat with a smart phone, laptop or desktop mic near them, I have had a chat to someone on skype when they were playing on their ps3 before now.

On topic SE will not add it, they say there are enough 3rd party apps already for us to use (which most people can use on PS3, anyone that says they can't are just complainers.)

I usually listen to music when I play games.

Also, I have no desire to know if the whm in my party is a 12 year old kid or a 50 year old man (or woman), the anonymity is one key thing why I like playing games such as FFXIV.

No one should have to use outside means to chat when its something their device can already do. They should just take crafting recipes out of the game and make it a smart phone app only.

Guess what running the game in full screen, that's exactly what we had in 1.xx. If it's really that bad get Sony to let you use the PS3 chatroom in game (it does have one, and you can use a headset)
