No from me.
I usually listen to music when I play games.
Also, I have no desire to know if the whm in my party is a 12 year old kid or a 50 year old man (or woman), the anonymity is one key thing why I like playing games such as FFXIV.

There is a little Monkey in all of us....

No one should have to use outside means to chat when its something their device can already do. They should just take crafting recipes out of the game and make it a smart phone app only.

Guess what running the game in full screen, that's exactly what we had in 1.xx. If it's really that bad get Sony to let you use the PS3 chatroom in game (it does have one, and you can use a headset)

Even if they did put an official voice chat in the game wouldn't it end up being ignored?
Blizzard put in official voice chat for WoW and guess what nobody uses it because Vent/Mumble/TS/Skype offer better quality, and people prefer their 3rd party VoIP programs to one that's provided in game. People in a guild rather pay for their own vent or mumble server then use the in game voice chat.

Maybe... If it was for PS3 players then they would be forced to use an in-game voice chat feature.
If Square Enix is really going to build one then maybe 70%-90% of the player-base would ignore me or kick me out of their party for not using a mic. It's just happened to me a million times in Xbox Live (I look at you Left 4 Dead 2...)

Well, to me, this is about getting less people ignored. Its unfortunate that even if given the option you couldn't do anything about it.. If you've got any ideas for functionality you should recommend it (probably in another thread since they wouldn't relate XD). Like those markers (tagging) should be helpful right? With addons coming you may find some special UI features as well.Maybe... If it was for PS3 players then they would be forced to use an in-game voice chat feature.

I will think about it in beta, however, it would kill the community for me even 8 party members probably I am only the one who without a mic and see this party being silent for me. I have had to use my brain to figure out what's going on.Well, to me, this is about getting less people ignored. Its unfortunate that even if given the option you couldn't do anything about it.. Join an exp party and then a leader would ask "anyone wanna voice chat? join me!" then I don't even know what to say but let them ignore me and enjoy myself instead hoping they don't kick me out for being an anti-social person.
Nevertheless, I am still getting feedbacks from my friends though.
