While not a perfect solution, you can download the entire Mumble source code here. Which means some enterprising developer (okay I'll get to it later if there's time/interest) could refactor the pertinent client code into actionscript as an add on.

It's easy for ps3 players to use voice chat with a smart phone, laptop or desktop mic near them, I have had a chat to someone on skype when they were playing on their ps3 before now.

On topic SE will not add it, they say there are enough 3rd party apps already for us to use (which most people can use on PS3, anyone that says they can't are just complainers.)

this topic been made loads of time SE said it would take take and money and talking to SE to make it. Top of that they said they can't control harassment over Voice chat in there own game so it be harder on them.

I wonder if they could provide a ps3 only service that let you send into that open source chat client (doesnt have to be this one, but there would need to be some method setup by SE or setup-able by the player to connect as a ps3 user to voice chat). In that way the ps3 players can talk to the PC players so long as there is a third party server (which would receive and then distribute the data), which means SE wouldn't have to censor any of it.. (still would cost money though lol).

I just dont think its idealistic to expect all ps3 players to have a laptop, their ps3 by their tower, or a smart phone. Put a warning on the ps3 game box "if you dont have one of the following our intense dungeons are going to be a giant PIA, also people will be less likely to try a dungeon with you".
