    /echo paranoia
    I can think of only two instances in the entire game when the echo is triggered by means other than the presence of the person off whom you are hijacking history. These are the opening sequences in Flowers for All and Sundered Skies. A starshower was simultaneously involved.

    It may have been whoever or whatever gave us the echo had decided (sentient?) that "you need to see this". While the Derplander's party was already woken by the echo, perhaps Fate saw fit to intervene in a simmilar way?

    Or maybe the CG animation was locked down before the rules of the echo were finalized...

    Unless we get something better, I'm just going to assume that the party from the Echo was actually at The Drowning Wench the entire time The Midlander was having his tweak-out. Maybe they were getting drunk to celebrate the ten year anniversary of the last time they dared pick up a damn guildleve - sitting just a few tables away from The Midlander yelling into their flagons, <Ian Malcom voice> "Oh, yeah - Morbols, light parties - that's how it always starts, but then there's juggernauts... and dragons."

    Preposterous! Conspiracy, I tell thee!
    Though to be fair, this is the only place in CG that you get to see a leve-plate. Is it such a leap of logic to consider that the leve-plate caused the Echo and not Deus Ex Machina?

    A bold assumption! Ian Malcolm is nowhere in sight. I think it more likely that you CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH. I'm sticking to the theory that levequests are Echoes for XP and leve-plates take the place of a person to Echo through, due to their unique distillation through Aetheryte (which definitely has to do with people and not dinosaurs). I suggest the Echo in a levequest starts when the leve-plate whooshes up around the character and crackles with lightning. Zap! Back through time!

    If this is a possibility, it's linking Aetheryte to the power of the Echo. Like the Aetheryte is a global memory network that pervades history enabling travel not only through space (ie our teleports), but through time as well.

    Also, I'm getting trapped in this delusion.

    The CGI team made two outcomes for the 1.0 intro tho i assume it happened at the same time...why they decided to do it so differently?... from Derplander dining at Limsa Lominsa with the Elezen male and the Miqo'te to Derplander walking/exploring into Silver Tear Lake with the Elezen female and the Roegadyn AND not Lalafell female to be seen ..unless she was asleep on the chocobo....then Derplander has a sudden echo that takes him to the party that just walked into Mor Dhona with him ..he has the Greatsword at Limsa Lominsa and he has the Greatsword walking into Mor Dhona but he doesn't have it in the echo because hes an Archer then the story changes again they go from watching the dragons take down juggernauts to battling a Morbol and Derplander been scooped by a Juggernaut THEN once again story changed as the Elezen ,Goegadyn and now including Lalafell witness the rain of fire of the battle from the same spot earlier they walked in with the Derplander w/o the Lalafell ... i'm confused @_@;;
