The funny thing is that most self elected hardcore are the ones that don't understand what it means. An hardcore gamer is nothing else than a gamer that has a lot of time in his hands to dedicate to gaming.

It has nothing to do with ability, skill or challenge or even effort (playing a game isn't an "effort", as it's a matter of enjoyment).

Mind you, most intelligent gamers will prefer te definition of "core" gamers, as "hardcore" is rather laughable to begin with.

dude... sadly eng is not my mother language...

so ...if you want, we can talk about the right use of the term.....even if this isnt the point ...

I think you know what i mean when i use the word HARCORE...if you are one of those "most intelligent gamers"..

if you are not, i will tell you what I want in battles:

    skill
    organization
    timing
    immagination

in game untill now, you only need.... spam...

tank needs to spam aggro ability
dps needs to spam white dmg and a buffed (not every time) BR ... gogo macro!!
    mage needs to spam healing

I dont know if you have done some of the high rank NMs....

After last patch, the NMs that was easy before ....now are really stupid!

Maybe you like this kind of game... but you waste your time to try to convince someone that the game is ok for the challenging part...

Im a fan of ""CORE"" games... i dont ask for a FFXI-2....but FFXIV is depressing like this...

Me too, But that has nothing to do with the *timesinks* that are advocated by this thread. Besides, having easier content that can be enjoyed by everyone (which is obviously the *first* to be implemented. You don't catere to niches before you cater to the majority), doesn't exclude the future implementation of more complex fights.

You're the one that might not have done them all (as I did) before and after the patch. Otherwise you would have noticed that not all NMs have been made easier. The great buffalo has been quite drastically made more powerful, with the damage it inflicts sizably increased. Of course, it's still not a very complex fight, but it's definitely harder than before.
In ANY and EVERY MMORPG simpler encounters are implemented first, and then more complex ones are implemented later, as the battle system gets more honed and finalyzed. It's been like that in FFXI, it's like that in FFXIV, and in every other MMO out there.

Lol. Sorry mate. But this is an open discussion forum. If someone disagrees with a thread, he has full right to express such disagreement. The OP asking for people to only come in to nod and be the "yesman" is quite laughable, and has nothing to do with respect.
When you express something publicly, you should expect to receive public responses, and not always positive.

This is a terrible idea, as the vast majority quite evidently expressed (funny that you quote only my post lol), and unrealistic to boot. It's quite appropriate for the developers to see such expressions of disagreement, despite the OP (and quite evidently you) would obviously prefer to hide them.

Not that the devs are ever going to consider a "timesink server" mind you, but positive reinforcement always helps, especially in the presence of the radio noise created by the same people continuing to open the same threads over and over with little very variation, trying to saturate the forums.

Good gamer challenge: Fights that take tactics, planning and coordination.
Hardcore pseudochallenge: Fights that take 3 rangers and a thaumaturge for easy win, otherwise its a painful as **** fight. When the blms tell you to sit at the edge of the BC and "Don't do anything" that's what the hardcores delight in. Seeing you helpless and telling you you're helpless.
Good gamer challenge: Fight, lose, Fight, nearly win, fight, win.
Hardcore pseudochallenge: Farm farm farm grind grind grind win, if not: lose 30 hours of materials and take the 40 minute hike back.

You don't have to side with elitist snots to prevent an easybake oven game. There are more good players who want real challenge than there are hardcores who just want to look better than everyone.
Regardless of our previous differences, I find myself in complete agreement with the above.

Sry but i have to say that you are totally wrong, since the only thing we do (me and my Ls) in game is NM and crafting...

So, maybe the NMs on my server are easier... <_<

about the more complexing fights later on .... i hope you are right....
