    A much more limited teleport system could be used - like mage teleports in FFXI (though it doesnt have to relate to players or a particular class).

    However, I would prefer that content in the area be available rather then doing a teleport rink that sounds more boring that just waiting a few minutes for the next session of whatever is coming.

    If that's the case, they should do a " Do you wish to teleport here now?" when you finished the First FATE and so on. I agree there in situations like that there should be an insta teleport to that area, " Only if you already seen the place at least once". But Teleports outside of Major Multi-Area Events, should be dumbbed down and not used so frequently as people did in 1.0.

    As Long as there's a Balance between all the Transportations, to where 1 isn't as obsolete as the next, Then i'm cool with whatever teleport ideas they have.

    I don't think mage teleports would be the answer to preserve some sort of significance in travel. With how easy it is level everything and to switch jobs on the fly in XIV, it would effectively be the same thing as just being able to teleport for free.

    What sounds boring is shouting at town asking for teleports. High end FATE isnt ggonna restart every few minutes, they will take 1hr to fight and 2-3hr to restart the events because they carry rare loot, so camping that area isnt an option.

    I added more to my post while you guys were replying to mine lol - I didnt mean creating a shout class job or w.e I just mean as an example "limited teleport systems".

    Also I think I mentioned a class unlocked / job unlocked set of special abilities that then become useable by any class (earlier in this thread), I think teleport spells could work alright in this way (making each class have a unique ability that you would want - like dragoons adding an enhanced jump). But besides that idea, in that particular post you two are talking about I didnt mean creating shout-athons.. lol

    @Char: if SE designed the game without teleporting everywhere then the content would have that in mind and you wouldnt be screwed out unless SE intended you to be screwed out :P (Or like I and Starlord suggested they could have special means of movement for these events - perhaps an airship picks you up at location and takes you to the next encounter).

    Yes it would trivialize airship and boat for transportation method, thats why they are making content for them so they arent ccompletely abandon, taking 10min and doing nothing is the past and i dont feel the need to embrace tthat idea, i want to kill monster not watching repeating scenery.
    Well a more real situation would be that your friend tells you of a fate... you join a party meet them and beat first fate... then one member of party teleport to next fate and so on... The chance of every player in a lvl 50 party having no anima is very unlikely...

    What people dont seem to grasp is the world doesnt revolve around you, the longer it takes to gather, u will stretch a group FATE further for your own little idealism, remember dynamis or einherjar? Where you need to take airships and bboats? Then starting ttime would be 1hr llater than the scheduled time?

    The slower people gather, the longer the fight will take. This will strech even further in a nonprimetime hour and will ended up with ppl ggiving up waiting for ppl to gather. Im ssorry but archaic system of FFXI just doesnt work anymore.

    And what makes you think everyone would be doing the same next FATE? What happens if ppl that does cycle FATE doesnt have anima at all? Peole would start charging money for teleport, its bound to happen and we are back to where anima cost money and it will bbe player driven where with limited animas, ppl will start charging crazy prices due to limited and slow anima regen.

    I said in Events like "FATE" that has a Route Pattern where Ul'dah has 1 now, Gridania has one 1 hour from the First and so on, then something Instant should be in placed ( Unless there's a Time limit to when you can do FATE again then there shouldn't be an instant tele). If there's a 2 hour gap between 1 FATE and another then you should have Plenty of time to get to the next one without insta tele.

    That first statement could be reversed to you as well. "World doesn't revolve around you"

    You have your way you like to play and I have mine, they conflict in a way that only one can exist.


    Also FATE doesnt require parties, that's its whole point.
