This is why i am not even interested in Alpha because it will be filled with so many stupid FFXI fanboys on the forums that cant move away from their archaic thinking, i will wait for Beta where people that normally doesn't give a flying fk about FFXIV will give an actual good feedback on how to attract them not this hobos that will keep playing regardless of how this game turns out.

I'm actually kind of glad Yoshi said that they're not likely to do much more than stress test and resolve critical bugs in the Alpha, instead of design changes. If they do design changes based on the feedback of people like Preypacer, this game will be dead in another year or two.

If that's a jab at WOW, it's not a very good one, because WOW today is vastly different from WOW at launch. They actually update every facet of their game to keep up with or get ahead of competition.

No, WoW has gotten popular. MMORPGs are still something that typecasts you negatively in even other gaming circles. To say nothing of other social circles.

Hell even Final fantasy fans in the US consider 11 and 14 the red headed stepchildren.

How normal is it to play MMOs again, to society? Remember the circus show that is the VGAs.

Depends. I've mentioned WoW to people, and I've gotten reactions ranging from "I tried it once" to "awesome. what server do you play on?". Sure you can mention Senator Santiaga--I mean, Senator Colleen Lachowicz, who was attacked during her campaign for playing WoW...except the attack failed and instead rallied the WoW fanbase to support her. She even won the election. There is a cultural shift taking place, believe it or not.

few years ago, I tried playing this game called WoW, after do some quest, I decided I cant stand the graphic, and now ARR definitely not feels like that game.
