There isn't a date as to when subjects may be discussed on the forums. Nor is this isn't the only discussion being had on the whole of the Lodestone Forums.

I'm still wondering about what countries with sizable gaming populations are also so interested in mmo content that they would be up in arms and ban FFXIV over this sole issue.

There isn't a date set yes but he stated phases for it #1 launch of game w/o it #2 implement F/M weddings and #3 based on feedback SSM will or will not be added.

The thread now is just to keep it alive in hopes it grab someone’s attention mainly. From what I could see in other forums beside this English one there was some discussion but not like on English forums so it’s all speculation of not hearing from the gaming population or other countries who find it controversial or whatever you view it. So really there couple of reason not much of a big deal to players from there or there satisfied with the answer that was giving to them but I could be wrong to tbh no one really does atm.

I realize this isn't an official poll, but I pretty sure "extremely" doesn't apply here. This conversation is in fact quite tame, due to the nature that this is a ceremony that is not official, between player avatars, and may be renamed to fit the game lore.

And really, I'm pretty sure they take a look at the popular threads to see what are the major discussions going on.

Yeah but this is only the English side of the forums. Again US thinking they = the entire world. And i only decided to comment here again bcuz everyone jumping Twiddles' throat while trying to give a solution only bcuz he doesn't agree with the ones demanding this.

As an out gay 32 years old gay man, this sounds more like an insult. Call it a sensitive subject if you will but this is only a controversial topic when you want to make it controversial. In this particular situation, if SquareEnix just launch the marriage function that allows all the get married to whomever they like, without mentioning about this being a "controversy", people probably won't even make a big deal out of it.

Why must 10% of the population always have to fight for what should be for them to begin with. Politician use it as an agenda, religion use it as an controlling method. Now should I be rejoice and thank your company for ALLOWING same sex marriage in the game, if that day happens? Should I give the developer a hero cookie for giving me such a privilege?

Err your just as guilty to your own claims and or justification of the issue you can only speak maybe for the english forums not entire community and unoffical polls can be deceiving if only a small % of comments that participated. So you cannot name any country that would ban this game?
Or any people that would cause "significant problems" for SE and its subscriptions?
But you assume they exist, and have such pull over SEs fanbase that they would shy away from Leviathan's existence, ignore the Miner's guild. Not bat an eye at the swimsuits, but would crawl out of the woodwork over this?

My point is this: what is the source of your "negative consequences?" Its like this amorphous thing, what is it and why should we base the game lore around its mores?
