Marriage feedback [inofficial Poll]

I find it cute when people propose a discussion then throw a fit when people don't blindly and unconditionally agree with them. I didn't say a thing about being opposed to gay and lesbian relationships irl or ingame. Like I said before, I am really for the soul partner idea(even for straight couples).

This thread's not really about marriage as a whole. If they weren't implementing it at all then this would be fine. The problem I have is that they're implementing it but restricted. Not fair to a number of their paying customers.

I'm hoping they understand this.

I voted for same gender marriage, even though I would never do it I think it's important to allow others to live their lives how they wish. It is not my place to make people follow my beliefs, certainly not in a game that is meant to be fun for all.

Do to the long wait time, what me and my ex-girlfriend did (in ffxi) was. Craft signed level 1 rings for wedding bands, exchanged them, and called it good. In ARR if we can do the same. Than all is good. Our character were not same gender, but for all intent and purpose could have been. Game wise married or not will probably make no difference so i am really indifferent which way SE goes on this one.

I hope we can at least get an answer of some kind soon. I mean I know they heard it before with the initial desire for marriage as a whole but we need them to see how the players on this forum at least feel about the restriction specifically.

Amen dude ;;, even though Same gender partnerships won't directly affect me ingame since I always play female characters and my husband always plays male ones - I'd be so happy to see everyone regardless of gender or orientation be able to marry (or bond, or pair or [insert whatever phrase they use]) their significant others♪

Q28: Will it be possible to get married? Will same-sex marriage be possible?
A28: There will be a cathedral in ARR, and this was created so that marriage can be performed. We will release information on this once marriage is possible. Same-sex marriage is an extremely fragile topic, so for now we would like to only have opposite-sex marriage to start.

Did you miss the part where I mentioned it being a response to that very announcement? You know that whole bit about a response specific to the restriction, which was first mentioned in that announcement. My whole intention is to get them feedback in regards to the restriction, which they just announced.

I guess i did miss that part. in the thread that was closed down (and yes there was only one that i knew of, i just assumed there was/would be others by the nature of the disagreement) the moderator commented about it

This topic has been brought up a number of times and Development has been made aware of all the thoughts and feelings, from both sides. I am going to lock this thread, now, as this has been a hot topic in the past, so we are getting no new opinions.

the idea of having it called something different was in that thread, so was scrapping it all together, so was just putting it in and not mentioning it to anyone. pretty much everything that is also in this thread. was there something new in this one that i have missed? i honestly havent taken the time to read through all 80+ pages of this again so i may have missed a nugget of new info. aside from raising more awareness that this is a controversial and divisive topic i dont think they will learn anything new. thats just my opinion on these threads.
