    Had you posted this thread a month ago when I just started GW2, I'd be all for it. Now that I've had time in the game, I'm very much against this. I'd be ok with being able to teleport places, but only if there's a limit. There's nothing wrong with running to a place, and in fact I believe this is the number one way memories are made.

    For the record, I felt the same with 1.xx's aetherytes. Teleporting was just... too convenient. It took away from the game. Your proposal would do the same but multiplied by 1000.
    My proposal is nothing but changing the functionality of the system, it doesn't add or take from it in any way. While I understand and even agree to some extent with people that complain about this, I don't see as being relevant to my suggestion ^^; I'm merely pointing what would be a very handy feature with the new UI as the Aetheryte system is there to stay, in one way or another, so I'm just saying that we could me it more enjoyable to use.

    I think I slightly derailed it slightly, sorry :P lol

    Though I did comment directly to the suggestion first

    I think even if the system is nerfed the map usage to teleport should still be used - forgetting where and which name is impossible when you can just look and click. Also less menus and looks cooler (map vs ui)

    I think this would be a excellent idea, save time and keep us from thouse accidental waste of anima when we have a brain lapse, about a name and did not look at the map.

    Im really hoping the easy ways to get anima near the end of 1.0 was just so ppl could get things done faster before the servers went down... and i hope its removed in 2.0.. like others have said it really took away from the exploring/memories aspect of the game. But I'm pretty sure im going to start a new character on a new server just so i can have the full experience of the game like i did in FFXI.. where it took me days if not a couple weeks to dare to explore and find the other cities. Just like stepping off the boat at Mhaura on my first trip to windurst.. im like wtf giraffes?!?!... good times

    To make it clear to people so they don't misread anything. I think what the OP is getting at is instead of doing the process: Menu>Teleport>Area>Aetheryte and accidentally get the wrong aethertye and waste anima, all the OP is suggesting is Map>Look for the aetheryte on your map and just point and click. Correct me if I'm wrong, because people tend to read things strangely wrong lol

    Wow....

    They are revamping the menu system so I'm not sure how teleporting from the map, will compare to the new menu. I think there should be multiple ways of teleporting.

    Tell me, Skies, did it take you "three hours" to run from the city to your first aetheryte camp? Did it take even 10 minutes? 5? Answer the question directly and honestly, please.

    That said, I actually would prefer having them displayed on the map (only the ones you've unlocked), as it would give a better visual reference of where you need to go until you're more familiar with the world layout, have the locations memorized, etc.

    There's nothing wrong with having teleports chosen from the world map, just as long as you've already been to and unlocked that teleport location, which should take long enough, and provide enough challenge to make the faster/easier travel obtained by unlocking a new location that much more valuable.

    To be honest, not much is known besides these things:

    City-State Aethernets are staying.
    Example: In FFXIV: ARR, all players will have unrestricted access to the city-state aethernets, which will render aetherpasses obsolete. Players already in possession of these passes will receive 40,000 gil in compensation (as per the redenomination, 1/10 of the original purchase price). Players who purchased the aetherpasses with company seals will be recompensed in gil.
