Is the "hero" party from the cinematic opening?

Remember the intro for FFXIV where the main hero guy is sitting at the table with the Elezen and Miqo'te? After watching the "end of an era" cinematic I notice that there's a black mage Elezen and the Miqo'te Bard.

And I'm curious are these two the same characters from the opening? o:



Sidenote:
I actually really adored the characters in the opening cinematic. The chemistry between them was really interesting, and had so much potential. Unlike many of the characters in these newer Final Fantasies, their personalities weren't "forced" and they didn't act all goody goody. It's almost unfortunate that they're merely portrayals of the player and aren't stars in an RPG of their own.

Yep. I assume the Elezen is the Black Mage.

It is the same group. If you notice, the Blonde-haired Lallafel stuck to being a Conjurer/White Mage the whole time, heh.

I guess "hero" is a good representation of the XIV community then. The Lalafell probably wanted to go as Dragoon and he was all like "stfu no you are a White Mage and nothing more". Poor Lalafell.

They're the same characters from the intro cinematic as far as I'm aware. After watching the End of an Era trailer however, I'm wondering, are they actual characters? Or are they just personifications of us, the players?

I'm wondering if those characters will play a role in the story once ARR is out, or if they're basically just mascots.

Players. Opening scene for ARR will have them to, to illustrate our arrival into the new world. That'll be about it then.
