There's a big opportunity to introduce the 12 (well, 13 technically) 'Zodiac Espers' as fallen counterparts to the Twelve Gods of Eorzea.

Back when 1.0 started, I wondered if they would eventually go down that route - it would fit quite well in this game.

Actually, you might be onto something - even just as an an interesting connection between games. Hold on, let me tweak this a bit...

It's probably also worth mentioning that these Espers were actually first present in the Tactics game, where Yoshi is getting -some- inspiration from. They were used in XII keeping the same names and appearance (which was pretty cool)
