Reread Yoshis Letter Companies are in 1.17

The Grand Companies will do the nations of Limsa Lominsa, Gridania, and Ul’dah justice as their stalwart representatives, and related content such as quests will begin to go live in patch 1.17. We’ll also be seeing the rulers of each of the companies come forth. A historic set of events is primed to take place in Eorzea, so be sure to keep a sharp eye out!

Thats what he said. So I think the Grand Companies might be introduced in 1.17, but they will not be fully functional (yet).

There was a hint though, the dev tag [1003], from the very first line. Look it up, it mentions companies. That's what everyone's hyped about.

Thats the impression I got from it as well. Even so, still excited to at least get the ball rolling.

I agree, but we can't expect too much from a normal patch size, unless they're making 500mb sizes or something. (exaggeration, do not quote me on that). What I really want though?

Also, with the number of Roegadyn who call Limsa home, and the lower population of Elezen that do, I doubt a Elezen would ever get elected to Admiral. Let alone be allowed to take on Chief Admiral.
