I don't count Louisoix because he seem to have the tattoo i'm talking about. It seem the people with the Tatto are part of a group or organization. In one of the final CS from grid they all came together ready to fight the black wolf empire guy. When it come to louisoix he seem to be part of the primals and the 12 gods of eorzea he even have the mark of one of them.

    Four Gridanian Quests

Ok, I'm going through the Gridanian Quests. Let's see what I can dig up. Let, I'll be copying a lot of text from the quest log, including wrapping echos in HB tags so you can see the conversation from the other party's perspective.

    And no, I didn't find a horn.

From what I can tell, the echos you expeirence are usually of very close promixity in time to the event in question. I'll go through the quests one by one.

    Sundered Skies:

You get the echo and promptly echo-jump whereupon you witness Yda and Papalymo arriving in Gridania. This is backed up by the fact that while the two notice you (they don't notice your arrival), you are left behind by Brother E-Sumi-Yan and the woodwailers, after which you exit the echo-jump. You take a treant vine with you.

    Souls Gone Wild:

Time for the text log. Bold is items of significance to me. Red is my own commentary.

Miounne: So you're the adventurer I've been hearing so much about. (From Yda? Not sure who else at this point.) Miounne's my name, or Mother Miounne as most call me, and the Carline Canopy is my place.
Miounne: Ah, now there's a look I know all too well. The look of a man newly come to Gridania, having narrowly escaped death or dismemberment in the doing. All you adventurers have that look at first─and you all come to my Canopy wearing it.
Miounne: No doubt you've heard of how peaceful it is here in Gridania, protected as we are on all sides by the Twelveswood. Aye, Twelveswood. Though those born outside the forest still call it the Black Shroud.
Miounne: Just don't come crying to this Mother should it fail to live up to your expectations.
Miounne: Gridania is like any other living thing. She keeps her health by expelling foulness. And I mean no disrespect, lad, but you are part of that foulness―an outsider.
Miounne: You must have passed through the wood to get here. No doubt you've already witnessed her fury firsthand, no?
Miounne: A moving tree? You mean to tell me you were attacked by a treant!? And lived to tell the tale?
Miounne: Ah, so the moogles came along and saved your hide, did they? Aye, you can always count on something extraordinary happening when they turn up.
Miounne: By the gods, next thing I know, you'll be telling me you're acquainted with these “forest-beckoned” outsiders all are talking about.
    -CUT TO ECHO-
Yda: And beckoned by the wood, we were. (Yda seems to be aware of your presence, while Miounne begins ignoring you.)
Papalymo: Or so your Brother ESumi tells us as much.
Miounne: You? But you're so─forgive me. This is all just a bit... I'm sorry, are you quite sure it was Brother E-Sumi-Yan who said this? (She seems flustered as if the talking point came out of nowhere.)
Papalymo: In so many words. To be honest, I haven't the slightest notion whether we are these souls beckoned by the wood the good Brother spoke of or not.
Miounne: Well, you are welcome here in either case. Have you come to sup? There's good food and drink to be had, and conversation besides.
Papalymo: No, thank you, as to the food and drink, but conversation interests me a great deal. I understand this establishment oversaw the survey of the site where our airship came down in the forest.
Miounne: Well, if it's a firsthand account you're after, you'd be best off asking one of the adventurers who was dispatched. Give Mother a moment, and I'll find out what I can.
Yda: I told you we shouldn't have jumped. A rough landing in the forest perhaps, but we'd have been greeted by Gridanians and brought here just the same!
Papalymo: To go down with the ship, or to jump from the sky? In hindsight, perhaps I was wrong.
Yda: And here I thought you were supposed to be the smart one.
Miounne: The wreckage is being taken to Atelier FenYll. It seems the remains of the ship and her crew were scattered─and in certain cases splattered─all over the forest.
    Yda: <gulp> Sc-scattered...?
    Papalymo: Splattered...?
    Swethyna: Ah, here you are.
Swethyna: I have come to insist that you are properly cleansed before you would enter the forest again.
Swethyna: Brother E-Sumi will perform rites to rid you of the greenwrath. Though perhaps through no fault of your own, the Hedge was brought down, and the elementals were angered.
Swethyna: The sins you committed within the forest have sullied you. Neglect to cleanse yourself, and the greenwrath will find you again. This is known.
Swethyna: Come, let us go. (Now!)

    -CUT FROM ECHO-
Miounne: Not sure what to make of it all, exactly, or if I even believe you, truth be told. You adventurers have been known to...embellish the facts. This seems to follow on from your pre-echo conversation.
Miounne: Would be a deal easier to believe if you had some sort of proof. Have you nothing to back your claims? Anything at all?
Miounne: A treant vine! Well, now, this is convincing! Seems we can't send you packing just yet. If you were attacked by a treant, you must have more than a little woodsin. You'll need to be purified, else the greenwrath will stay fixed on you.
Miounne: Gods, why I'm so nice I'll never know. Fine, I'll see to it you get a spot in the next purification. (What, I can't go with the other two you just heard were to be purified by E-Sumi-Yan? :P I take this as proof of Miounne's obliviousness.) Meanwhile, you'd do well to visit Camp Bentbranch.
    -snip-

From this point forward, news spreads like in a country town that you are the adventurer who claims to escaped a treant, but without any mention of the archons'or E-Sumi's involvement.

    Next echo flash:
    - Witnessing Krimm talk to Geva. We also learn that the airship they came in has workings "far beyond anything we've ever seen." We aren't acknowledged and the scene ends with a "where were we?"

    Quotable quote:
    - O-App-Pesi: No need to introduce yourself, I know full well who you are─the unlucky adventurer. And unlucky you are, to have come to Gridania at a time when the Hedge was broken, though gods know that happens far too often. (ie: the hedge was already broken)

    You Chat with O-App.
    -CUT TO ECHO-
    - Archons enter the CNJ guild with you already there. Swethyna of the Wood Wailers seems to acknowledge your presence, but Brother O-App-Pesi completely ignores you after the echo starts. Again, E-Sumi's message of ones beckoned by the elementals refers only to Yda and Papalymo.
O-App-Pesi: I can't help but think that this might all have something to do with the forest's unrest as of late. There is a presence come to Eorzea─one with the power to change the world forever. And it will visit the wood soon. -snip-

    -CUT FROM ECHO-
O-App-Pesi: My apologies, went off on a bit of a reverie there, didn't I?

You do all your dance practice without echo or archons present. Again, your being attacked by a treant is the word on the street, but with no connection to the archons.

Your trip to the Lifemend stump, including your first chat with the Hermit, is uninterrupted by echo until you leave the hermit and run over to the stump, where you see the kids (Krimm and Fye, not Powle and Sansa as you escorted, although the pairs look similar) putting down the mask to be fixed. They look your way in shock, but then run straight past you. It's unclear if they ran because of you or something else, such as the rustling of the bushes. Echo music ends and you chat to the moogle, suggesting moogles can feel the echo. It flies off, you walk away, echo ends, hermit asks if you're ok (lol) and then the kids come from behind you. They say they left a letter. The hermit starts catching on that you might have the echo.

Chatting to the Wood Wailers (out of echo):
Nuala: I gather OApp of Stillglade Fane has told you of the Hedge and how it works?
Burchard: Well, it has been broken yet again, though the cause is still unclear to us.
    Nuala: Gods, what a mess.
Nuala: Understand us, we do not wish to implicate you in this. We seek only to find the perpetrator as swiftly as possible.
Nuala: If not... The consequences will only become more dire.
    -CUT TO ECHO-
Mansel: Clear the way! Clear the way!
((Injured Wailers are brought in and treated by conjurers.))
    Nuala: Gods, what did this!?
T'kebbe: A shadow, it was. The wood itself came alive and was upon us.
    Farrimond: A shadow...
Farrimond: From the trees... It came and...and...
    Cecilia: A wildling... I s-saw it─him. It...it was Dunstan.
    Burchard: Dunstan? Commander Dunstan?
Swethyna: All able bodies, pay attention. Carry the injured to the back and tend to their wounds.
Swethyna: Has aid been requested from the Conjurers' Guild?
Swethyna: There is something in the wood far more dangerous than we ever imagined. (Ascian?)
Swethyna: From now on, only the most capable from among the Gods' Quiver and conjurers will be sent on rangings.
Swethyna: Brief the adventurer on what has occurred. Then send him on his way. (As before, Swethyna recognises your presence inside your echo-moment.)
Burchard: This way, adventurer, if you would. (And so do Buchard and Nuala. I'm guessing this is why you were summoned to the wailing barracks in the first place, although the Wailers may not fully understand why at this point.)
Nuala: What you hear here is not to be repeated. Talk of the wildlings most of all.

    -CUT FROM ECHO-
Nuala: The greenwrath has been stirred by many and more lately, and not just adventurers. It's said those who anger the elementals are claimed by the wood, damned to live out their days wandering its depths.
Nuala: We call those unfortunate souls “wildlings.” And pity them as we may, they are a danger.
Burchard: You'd do well to let others of your kind know this─the dangers of the wood are dark of late. (Or maybe the do know about the echo?)
Nuala: That is all. You may go.

    Whispers in the Wood:

    -snip-
Miounne: Whether it's the proximity to Garlemald-occupied Ala Mhigo, or the beast tribes, or their damned eikons that prompted them, none can say. (OMG! SHE'S A GARLEAN! FERNE, TELL US IT'S NOT TRUE!!! ...moving on.)
    -snip-
    -CUT TO ECHO-
Yda and Papalyma walk in on your conversation. Miounne starts ignoring you.
Yda: Hello, hello. It seems like moons since last time, but the saviors of the forest have finally returned! (Note that it's been a while since we arrived in Gridania now. Your mask has also been made, so that is time passed for everyone, not just the archons.)
-snip- Yda starts asking about the concept of waging war against the empire for the first time. It is as if they have taken the time to chat with the Circle. Krimm is a bit annoyed to see them and the archons decide to go have a chat with him after he leaves. They also leave.

-CUT FROM ECHO- Miounne picks up where she left off talking to you.

You get your purification mask and try it on. Zezekuta is reminded of a mask that once failed (Dunstan's, the one Fye left at the stump).
    -CUT TO ECHO-
Fye walks in. Zezekuta talks to Fye about how the mask couldn't even be fixed by moogles. He then talks to you inside the echo about your previous chat with a moogle and its message for Fye. You head outside and stumble upon her arguing with Krimm about his parents (Sigurdh and Oona) and her Brother (Dunstan) being "gone".
You talk to Fye inside the echo and give her the message and you are asked to deliver one in return. She runs off.

    -CUT FROM ECHO-

You head back to the guild desk.
    -CUT TO ECHO-
So this is a different echo. It's Papalymo and Yda coming for the chat they wanted to have with Krimm, though the boy isn't there. So this is earlier on. You were in the room before the archons during the echo. Papalymo asks why the mask could fail in a purification rite...
Zezekuta: No, we are creating new masks for you. Brother ESumi has assured us that the mask in question was old, worn with age and use, its powers faded. (That sounds like something dragged through an echo.)
The conversation continues, with Zezekuta proposing the fight against Garleans occupying ala Mhigo gave them their Woodsin. Papalymo is very curious about the concept of Wildlings. They leave.

    -CUT FROM ECHO-
Zezekuta: I...I'm sorry. Where was I...? Ah, yes, the mask! I will be sure and give it to you before the ceremony. (Not sure if this is obliviousness, or post-echo confusion. He showed signs of seeing us mid-echo earlier.)

This being a country town, word of your message for Fye has spread like wildfire and everyone knows by now. You tell E-Sumi about Fye's request to talk to moogles and they send you out to find yummy stuff for them. This is all out-of-echo.

You find a pearl clover fruit and a moogle. Om-nom-nom.
    You see a damaged tree.
    -CUT TO ECHO-
You see Krimm chopping at it. He notices you. The Moogle joins in and tries to tell him off, but you still have to translate for Krimm.
Khrimm: Then tell that little runt something for me. Tell it I'm going to prove that the elementals aren't real!
Pudgy Moogle: But they are real, kupo! Wherever did he get a silly idea like that? Tell him they're real!
Khrimm: It's saying that they do exist, right?
Khrimm: Nothing but lies! I know for a fact. I saw them!
Khrimm: My parents, Fye's brother, and all the rest. I saw them!
Khrimm: All of them. They were living in the forest together, hiding. All the stories about greenwrath and wildlings, they were all lies! (Our first sign of a cover-up.)
Pudgy Moogle: Does he mean the people staying at the ruins, kupo? The rocky, stony ruins? (Probably the Gelmoran ruins. Our second sign of a cover-up.)
Khrimm: I tried to tell everyone that I saw them. But nobody listened to me. They just ignored me and kept on thinking they were wildlings. They believe anything if you say the elementals did it.
Khrimm: And they won't even look because they say it's taboo. Instead they just wonder what they must have done to be claimed by the forest.
Khrimm: But they never did anything to hurt the wood. All they did was abandon us! Me, and Fye, and all the other children.
Khrimm: Hey, you in there! Stupid bloody elemental! Come out! Come out and show me your greenwrath!
Pudgy Moogle: I don't know what's going on, kupo, but the elementals are real. And they do whatever they must to protect the forest.
Pudgy Moogle: This is bad, kupo. Very, very bad. I must try and talk to the elementals. I must try and make things right!
    The moogle starts running off.

-CUT FROM ECHO- The moogle backs up a little.
Pudgy Moogle: ...Where were we, kupo? (Post-echo confusion?)
Pudgy Moogle: Ah, yes! Tell me this wildling's name. The one you wish to save. Rescue and save.
Pudgy Moogle: Dunstan, is it? Brother to one named Fye? (Now we're using the echo properly. )
Pudgy Moogle: Why, kupo? Ah...truly, kupo? What's that, kupo? Yes... Hmmm...
Pudgy Moogle: Cleansing a wildling is not easily done, kupo. The conjurers must perform their cleanses. Purges and cleanses, rituals and rites. (ie: normal purification for normal greenwrath, but a lot of it)
Pudgy Moogle: But there's more. The elementals have something to ask of you, as well.
Pudgy Moogle: Tell the Hyur girl, the one named Fye, to stop wandering the wood, kupo.
Pudgy Moogle: Do you know what they're talking about, kupo?
Pudgy Moogle: Well, it matters not─it has already been asked! And now, if you'll excuse me, there are countless tasks to which I must attend, kupo!

Back to greatloam growery and there is the anticipated shock at the proposition the elementals have asked you to speak to Fye.
Fufucha: But that would mean...y-you are one of those beckoned by the forest─by the elementals. Your being here is no coincidence. (Further proof of our apparent disconnect from the Archons - we have been seen together only inside our echo-jumps.)
Fufucha: But what could it all mean? The conjurers must be told of this, immediately!

Off to the Quiver's Hold. Bowlord Lewin and O-App-Pesi are there.
Lewin: Even you do not know?
O-App-Pesi: I fear I do not. The elementals are at great unrest. Their voices have become hurried, their whispers unintelligible.
O-App-Pesi: The moogles do all in their power to soothe them, but they are in the grip of a great terror.
    -You approach. This is out-of-echo.-
O-App-Pesi: Ah, it is good of you to come, Taveth.
Lewin: We meet at last. I am Lewin, guildmaster here. I run this rabble of chocobos' arses what call themselves archers.
Lewin: I hear it told the elementals have asked you to deliver a message─a message to Fye. It seems they've entrusted you with the task of saving her. (Typical country town.)
Lewin: As you've come this far, I will tell you what we know, but I require that you speak none of it beyond these halls. Understood? (You're becoming privy to some of the cover-up.)
Lewin: We discovered who it was that brought down the Hedge. We failed to capture the perpetrator, but we know now that our suspicions were correct.
Lewin: The man is forestborn, but was exiled from Gridania years ago. Suffice it to say, he erred in the past, and bought the greenwrath for it.
O-App-Pesi: To this day, his woodsin continues to grow and fester, and with it the elementals' desire to bring about his end. Truly, I have rarely seen them so wroth─and yet he will not relent.
Lewin: Dunstan, he is named, and it is his sister Fye he seeks. No doubt he means only to help her. (ie: Dunstan and co are not wildlings, but could be very soon.)
O-App-Pesi: My men tell me that you have already made the acquaintance of Fye. This is why I have summoned you.
O-App-Pesi: We need your strength, Taveth. For Fye's sake, and for Dunstan's. If you should see anything queer in the Twelveswood, make it known at once.

    Beckon of the Elementals:

Off to Quiver's Hold, since they seem to have a lead. Or not much of one, really.
Lewin: How have we not found the bastard? We've combed every bloody ilm of the Twelveswood, yet the unrest of the elementals continues.
O-App-Pesi: The fault lies with me, I fear. It was I who was unable to deter Dunstan from entering the forest. Still, I beg of you, Lewin, leave Fye to me.
Lewin: Hm, you? Ah, yes, I suppose Miounne did mention you might come stumbling along. So, you have a mind to take part in a ranging, do you?
Lewin: Well, I'm in no position to refuse help, however meager. Dunstan will stop short of nothing to get what he wants. He must be found!
    (This was all POST-BATTLE.)
    -CUT TO ECHO-
-A bunch of Archers walk in.-
Grinnaux: Bowlord Lewin! Trouble in the wood!
    Lewin: Where?
    Lewin: The western Hedge?
Lewin: Make ready all units! Depart immediately!
O-App-Pesi: I feel a great disturbance in the forest...as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror. The elementals... (May the force be with you.)
O-App-Pesi: We must leave at once! (He's talking to you! This fight is inside the echo.)
Cue sprinting into the first. Krimm has set a hedge tree on fire. Yda and Papalymo are also present, although it doesn't seem to be an echo for them - they interact with EVERYONE and feel an ability to easily justify their presence. This is backed up by their previously announced intention to try and find the "wildlings" (see more below).
Your interaction in the fight is either by attacking the elemental, or talking to O-App-Pesi. Krimm becomes a wildling. You return to the Quivers Hold.

-CUT FROM ECHO- Your conversation picks up where it left off.
    Lewin: This bodes ill.
    O-App-Pesi: Aye, that it does.
O-App-Pesi: The greenwrath has been wakened before by the strike of a spark─and it brought about an end of the elementals' vigil over Gridania.
O-App-Pesi: At length, they forgave us the fire, but none shall forget the loss of life that was suffered.
O-App-Pesi: It must not come to that... Not again.
O-App-Pesi: Seek out Fye, Taveth, as the elementals have asked of you. Something tells me you will not meet with much difficulty in finding her.
O-App-Pesi: And now it is I who asks a favor of you. Even if found, Dunstan and Fye will not be out of harm's way. Nor will we. The wrath of the elementals will continue. It is best that they leave Gridania and the Twelveswood altogether. Please, Taveth, convince them of this. (O-App knows you know what happened. I'm not sure if Lewin does.)

We head to the carpenters guild and chat to Zezekuta about what has happened.
-CUT TO ECHO- Fye runs up.
We learn that Krimm went to see Dunstan, to try and give him the mask Fye made. We can assume that Yda and Papalymo followed him. The cover-up about Dunstan is mostly blown by now, with Zezekuta picking up the last of the threads.
-CUT FROM ECHO- Zezekuta is rather rattled by the whole thing.

You report your findings back to O-App.
O-App-Pesi: Well met, Taveth. Pray tell me, were you able to find and speak with Fye?
O-App-Pesi: I see... So, she is attempting to fashion a mask for her brother─a purification mask. Then her purpose is clear. She meant for him to take part in the purification rite.
O-App-Pesi: What has become of Khrimm, you ask?
O-App-Pesi: You speak of the boy who set fire to the hedgetree? He...
    -CUT TO ECHO-
    Disconcerted Conjurer: Wildling! Wildling!
    Silky-haired Conjurer: But how!?
    Enigmatic Conjurer: It's Dunstan!
-Yda and Papalymo escort Dunstan into Stillglade Fane's courtyard-
Yda: The saviors of the wood return! And we've caught your dreaded wildling!
Papalymo: Pray tell us, where might we find Brother ESumi?
    O-App-Pesi: He is within, but...
Papalymo: Please, do all that you can to save this man─as you are doing for Khrimm.
    Papalymo: Come.
    -You head inside-
E-Sumi-Yan: So you have returned to us, Dunstan.
Dunstan: Forgive me, Brother ESumi. Forgive me a thousand times. I did not intend to...to... (Genuine remorse: "Crap, I went too far.")
E-Sumi-Yan: Do not apologize. There are some here who are glad to see you returned. Are you aware that your sister has been searching for you tirelessly? The poor child has been beside herself with worry.
E-Sumi-Yan: None of us were able to deter her, not even Khrimm. She is a strong girl, Fye. Stubborn, to be sure, but strong.
E-Sumi-Yan: We have held counsel, and decided that a grand rite will be held to reclaim you from the forest. (So decided after the hedge-burning incident, but before you arrived to echo this.)
Papalymo: A grand rite indeed. And I imagine Dunstan will have rather a grand tale to tell afterwards.
Dunstan: Brother ESumi, I... I don't have the words to thank you...
E-Sumi-Yan: Still, I cannot say with certainty whether Khrimm's woodsin can be cleansed or no.
E-Sumi-Yan: To do so... Dunstan, in the end, I fear it may cost you your life.
Yda: I wouldn't think you the type to kill to keep secrets, good Brother. You'd have to kill Papalymo and me as well, no? Oh, did I not mention? We know everything.
Papalymo: Gridania intends to wage war against the Empire. We have come here to observe the army with which you mean to do so.

E-Sumi-Yan: I am well aware of this, and far more. But it is for no army's sake that Dunstan may be forced to give his life. (I'm not sure how he knows this.)
E-Sumi-Yan: To save Khrimm, his greenwrath must be quieted. To do so may require us to give one to the elementals in his place, should they demand it.
E-Sumi-Yan: And that soul must be one who played a hand in that same damning act. One who bears responsibility, just as Khrimm himself.
Dunstan: No... It was all my fault. It should have been me. The boy's woodsin should have been mine all along.
E-Sumi-Yan: The grand rite will be held. All should see to the necessary preparations at once. (They are happening while you echo this.)
E-Sumi-Yan: And speak nothing of this until after the ceremony. This rite is of the utmost importance, and we can afford no more distractions. It may well determine the safety of Gridania─and mayhap its fate.
E-Sumi-Yan: After the grand rite, I will tell you all that you wish to know. But only after... (That would include arranging an audience with the Elder Seedseer, Kann-E-Senna.)
    -People depart-
O-App-Pesi: So Fye has come, has she? It pains me to say, but I'm afraid we cannot permit her to see Khrimm for now.

    -CUT FROM ECHO-
O-App-Pesi: The boy set flame to a hedgetree of the Twelveswood.
O-App-Pesi: Much has happened in a short time, and the forest is restless and frightened. The greenwrath of the elementals is at its height.
O-App-Pesi: There is much to be done. But come, you must meet with Dunstan. I will summon him. (Even though I already met him. :P )
    - Dunstan is brought in-
O-App-Pesi: I would like for you to meet Dunstan, brother of Fye.
Dunstan: Who is this man, Brother OApp?
O-App-Pesi: This is Taveth, a dear friend to your sister, Fye. I think he may be able to help you a great deal.
Dunstan: A friend of Fye's is a friend of mine. It is an honor to meet you, Taveth.
O-App-Pesi: We are thinking to have Dunstan here take part in the purification rites―secretly, of course.
O-App-Pesi: By all rights, he should not even be in Gridania. Should the townsfolk discover he is planning to attend the ceremony, it would cause an outcry. His mere presence would seem to them to invite disaster.
O-App-Pesi: But if he is present, then there is a chance of he and Fye meeting. And that, Taveth, depends entirely upon you.
O-App-Pesi: The rites are about to commence.
O-App-Pesi: Taveth, should you see Fye again, please tell her. Tell her that her brother is waiting for her.
O-App-Pesi: Forgive my bluntness, Dunstan, but of you I ask only this─do nothing to sully the ceremony.

Festival time. Everyone is present. A moogle rocks up.
Pudgy Moogle: Hello again, Taveth. The elementals have a message for you, they certainly do.
Pudgy Moogle: The great arbor spirit of Everschade has spoken, and we have listened.
Pudgy Moogle: Those beckoned by the forest are here as messengers of Nophica herself─to bring the words of the Matron to all.
    E-Sumi-Yan: Messengers of Nophica?
    Hermit of the Wood: You...
-CUT TO ECHO- (Yes, you were late, you'll get purified in an echo.)
Fye: I see you have a mask. Will you be dancing, too?
Fye: What's that? Dunstan? My brother? He's here!?
Niall: All those participating in the cleansing, please gather at the stage.
Niall: Again, all those participating in the cleansing, please gather at the stage.
Fye: It looks like you have to go now.
Papalymo: I wonder if it will work, this dancing to wash away the woodsin.
    Yda: Ours? Or theirs?
Papalymo: Theirs, you lackwit. Well, whether it does or no, we must still reveal their secret. We must show everyone what they and the elementals have been attempting to hide.
-The Ceremony happens. Krimm's woodsin causes Dunstan to collapse. You and the Archons rush in.-
    -CUT TO ECHO-
-You and the Archons are at the hedge tree pre-burning, but at a distance.-
    Yda: Look, someone's there!
Khrimm: I don't want to keep your stupid secret anymore! All Fye ever does is look for Dunstan. She's going to keep wandering the wood no matter what I say!
Sigurdh: Easy, son, eaaasy. We have a duty to fulfill, you know that. When it is done, then we can return home. But no sooner.
Khrimm: But you don't even know if you'll live to make it back!
Khrimm: Take us with you! Me and the other children. Tell them the truth, too! We won't tell anyone else, I swear!
Oona: We've been through this before, Khrimm. I'm sorry, but we can't. Someday you'll understand.
Oona: However hard it may seem to believe now, you will soon learn that some things matter more than happiness. I know it's difficult, sweetling, but our task is simply too important. None can know of it.
Khrimm: I know... But at least let Dunstan stay. If he doesn't...
Dunstan: Khrimm... Khrimm, what are you doing?
    -Krimm raises his torch-
Khrimm: Everyone you left behind is living a lie. I'm going to show them that the elementals don't exist. That there is no woodsin, no greenwrath, no wildlings. That there's no reason to cry for you all.
Khrimm: If you're not wildlings, then at least you might come back someday. I'm going to give them that hope.
    Oona: Khrimm, no!
Sigurdh: You bloody fool! What have you done!?
Sigurdh: Come, we must go! We cannot fight the elementals here!
Oona: What are you saying!? He is our son! We can't―
Sigurdh: Shut your bloody mouth, woman! We go!
-Dunstan looks like he is having an oh-sh*t moment, probably why he'll turn himself in-
    Dunstan: Khrimm...

    -CUT FROM ECHO-
-You and the archons go flying back. Fye is at Dunstan's side. And without his mask he looks a lot like our CG Midlander.-
    Fye: Dunstan! Dunstan!
E-Sumi-Yan: He is safe, child, thanks to you. That mask you made had a great deal of love in it.
E-Sumi-Yan: And miracles do occur, it would seem.
    Khrimm: What...? What happened?
    Fye: Khrimm!
Yda: Please tell me you just saw all that, too.
Yda: It wasn't a dream, because I don't dream. Or at least I never remember them if I do.
Yda: Maybe it was a vision. Like the kind the cultists say you see if you eat moogle flesh during a full moon.
Yda: Pinch me, Papalymo. I do believe I may be dead again.
Papalymo: No, this is no great beyond, Yda. It was the past we saw. Twelve be good, it was the past! By some strange power...or someone's. (They are just now properly discovering what the echo is.)
    -Papalymo stares at you-
    -STARSHOWER- Everyone present sees it.
    Papalymo: Gods be good...
    Yda: Meh...
E-Sumi-Yan: The elementals... They cry out in fear.
Dunstan: So it has begun, then. I just pray it is not the beginning of the end.
Yda: They're falling towards the lake, Papalymo. (Mor Dhona) Are you thinking what I'm th―
Papalymo: Do you need even ask? We should have stopped it and we didn't. It has begun.
Papalymo: The winds of change have already swept over Eorzea. We are only just now realizing it. The Echo has sounded... (He knows WHAT it is at least.)
Papalymo: And nothing can stop it now.
Yda: You dolt! Don't be so quick to give up!
Yda: You and I might still be able to stop it. We can find a way, like we always do. We can do anything!
Papalymo: I knew I kept you around for a reason, Yda. Come on, then!
Yda: There's the big-hearted little runt I know!
-Archons run off and you try to follow them-

-CUT FROM ECHO- AND IT HURTS
Hermit of the Wood: You, there! Can you hear me? Wake up, now!
Hermit of the Wood: Bloody Echo's rattled him good and proper. I'd better find someone who knows the poor bugger.

-You wake up at the Roost-
Miounne: Good to see you awake at last. Are you in much pain? It's alright, you're here―at the Roost.
Miounne: It was the greenwrath, more than like. (Oblivious, as always.) You dropped like a brick in the middle of the cleansing rite. (Middle being the figurative term.)
Miounne: Oh, and by the way, your friend saw to your expenses. (The Hermit)
Miounne: He did a lot more for you by the looks of it. You may want to thank him when you are feeling up to it.
Miounne: He asked that I give you a message, as well. He said that if you happen to find yourself in Ul'dah, you should pay a visit to the Waking Sands in the Merchants Ward.
Miounne: If you've a mind to head there, you need only follow the Lumberline south. Now just you take care, alright?

Check out his balding forehead for his tattoo. The reason Thalliak's mark is on his staff is because that god is both his own patron and that of Sharlayan, which is where he comes from.
The reason he isn't in the final cutscene of Futures Perfect is because his character model was not implemented into the game at launch, which is how long that quest has been around.

Hmm i knew he had a tattoo on his head but is it the same as the other npc that have it on there neck? it hard to tell from a screeshot.

I never thought to look at it until you asked ... but yes and no. They all have the same symbol. However, something weird is up with some of them.

Louisoix's is white, on his forehead, and with an opening facing to the right, while Urianger's is black, on his face, and facing to the left.

Y'shtola, Thancred, Yda, and Papalymo all have them on each side of their neck, facing both ways. So, what does this mean? Ellephino!

It seems that Louisoix was busy with larger tasks until this one absolutely needed his attention. They all were, really.

If we're continuing along the same path of assumptions we have been, perhaps their journey was getting more and more specific over time. They find out that whatever it is that they're interested in at this point happened in this age - so they come here. They learn that whatever they're interested in at this point started with The Key - they send Y'shtola to go hunt that down through time. They know the Empire has something to do with it, they send Yda and Papalymo to Gridania to echo in and out trying to find when they invade. They send Thancred to ... figure out ... what it's like to seduce women in each individual era? (I'm not really sure what his story is, but every time I see him personally he's trying to get in someone/thing's pants.)

Once they hone in on their goals, they see the big picture, oh, Gods, everyone's going to die - primals, war, falling moon - QUICK, GET LOUISOIX.

Still... why Urianger and Lousioix each only have one tattoo in opposite colors/directions... that's interesting. Louisoix is our way out, our salvation - and Urianger announced (and has been accused of causing) the fall of the astral era... could that have something to do with it?

I think anything with Urianger and louisioix are just addon for the end of the world for 2.0 there really not the real main plot of the game but i guess they are now and that the reason there tattoo are diff from the others. i guess we have to play 2.0 and see what happen next and seeing how everything going to be voice over it going to be easy to understand the story.

Do we have any idea how often we'll be seeing those voiceovers? Full graphical cutscenes only, again? Main mission cutscenes? Plot-related quests? I don't believe any of the NPCs or minor quests were speaking during the feeds I was watching from the alphALFAAAAaaa... TEA ... PARTY.....

    I ... >.> <.< >.>
    have to gooo ... now...

    I have a...

    On a more serious note

Just for fun, I bounced the tattoo situation off of one of my wiki bosses o'er'der at the GamerEscape (Gahoo) and he came up with the idea that perhaps the reason they each only have one tattoo is that they TOGETHER are the Archon of Nald'thal...

    Now that's a theory.

Until now, I'd assumed that Louisoix was Thaliak's ... I'm gonna dig around and see if that's absolutely something we know for certain... I mean the staff is kind of a giveaway... but I'm gonna check into it anyway. The staff could just mean that, as the leader of the circle of knowing, he's pretty big on the knowledge representations.

Also, I'm totally not ignoring your Gridania posts; I'll use them as my guide when I look into them when I'm free ^^

Wait a minute... Let's get back on topic for a moment

What if the Emperor of the Garlean Empire already has a primal? One that accepts his society as its benefactors? One that provided them with the knowledge and power to rise as fast as they have? Surely this primal, like the others, would demand the same two things: to be the True God and to be gifted with our aether in return.

If you were the Emperor of an empire built on the gifts of a primal that demanded such things... you would be left with two goals: Exterminate all other primals... and gather all aether.

THAT'S why Gaius attacked Silvertear Falls' aether source
THAT'S why the Empire has taken control of Eorzea's biggest crystal deposits
THAT'S why all primals are to be systematically exterminated
THAT'S why the White Raven thought Meteor was such a good idea

And I Quote: "The more violent or dramatic the loss of life, the greater the amount of inner aether released to take the form of crystals or remain imperceptibly in the atmosphere. "

It sounds like you could generate quite a bit of primal food if you dropped a METEOR on a continent containing (A) thousands of innocent people and (B) the only other competition left for The One True God.

Maybe Gaius has a bad feeling about this because Odin is about to absolutely wreck Garlemald's primal's plans...

It's been a *long* time since I've watched all my city quests, but if I'm remembering right Thancred was investigating both the Thaumturge's magics and the situation revolved around someones death (which eventually tied back into discovering Ifrit, I believe?)

That would make sense. That's all three bases covered to hone in on our point in time being a critical junction for intervention, then.

To be more specific, Thancred was investigating the Ul'dahn corporate underbelly to try and unravel their secrets, including their plans for dealing with the empire. He had a rumour to go on and discovered it was true: Revival of the dead, or Necromancy. If you could master this forbidden art, you would have an endless supply of soldiers.
