think your missing the point.never said i agree with the current game direction, just saying we can complain all we want , the fact of who they are catering to wont change and that includes 24h nm timers.anyways /away!There used to be a similar argument in ff11 about needing less people to do events.
Something like a party of 6 should be able to do anything, simply make things weaker so a party of 6 can kill it but still be hard. The problem is, if 6 people can kill something, its not hard, even if its hard for you, it took almost no cooperation with others and most likely very little strategy. Something that would take 18 people and still be hard is many many times more difficult.
You only having 5 friends shouldnt be my problem either.
I don't see how anyone will be able to kill it, if it is really difficult, it could even take hnmls months to kill it.
Also, if there is a reeenter time of 72hr or once a week, the items drop by the boss WILL be rare.
This kind of competition is more revelant, it is the competition of player's skill and gearset trying to defeat a super hard boss.
What kind of competition does camping nm offer? competition of whose internet ping is the best? or who is the luckiest? or who don't need to sleep? it makes no sense.

Difficulty is no factor. If you can kill it you can kill it again. It's not rare no matter what because everyone is killing it. Not 1 kill every 24 hours. 1 kill for every LS every 72 hours is a lot more added up.
You think that camping NMs is what needs to be awarded most, with best gear? You cant want the best gear in the game and be against camping and for long respawns, atleast if getting the best gear in the game involves NM's. If your solution is the random spawning of mobs anywhere in the game with no pattern of any kind, you sir, will never see the gear i promise you.
The solution with the random spawning of mobs anywhere in the game with no pattern of any kind would add rare items. Very rare items.
I never said that this should be the only sort of NM, there are various options to add instanced NM, faction leve NM, BCNM, the current open world NM.
There could be tournaments with rewards (instanced PVP) and lots of other new game modes.
Please note, I am not 100% against camping, we talk about 24h pops here!
Being restricted to a single window every day is simply unfair given all the different time zones.
Some people are limited to certain times and i want to play the game when i am free and not at night or when i am supposed to work. Why is that so hard to understand?
Make it pop often, lower the drop rate.
Also IMO the super rare gear should be untradeable and people should be able to hold only one.

how does needing a long pop timer or a certain number of people make a boss harder? There used to be a similar argument in ff11 about needing less people to do events.

it don't.
no, because my life isn't pathetic enough to revolve it around a video game.
as much as i like playing, real life > video games
so in a sense it's kinda sad to see how much you seem to prioritise a game over real life
It seems that everyone always wants what they're used to; no one likes change at all.
This is Final Fantasy 14, not 11.
Get over it.
Generic excuse for being bad.
LOL. Have to play the game to be good.
GET OVER IT.
So you don't want anything to be hard, you just don't want other people to have the gear you do? Given enough time a vast majority of people will have it anyway, deal with it.
LOL @ people thinking that this game won't be 95% casual. That's where the money is at, and that's the direction this game will be headed. JPs want casual, NAs want casual... SE will deliver it. Fine by me though, bring on casual gaming!
