I'm not seeing what this anecdote has to do with making global servers as an option to those of us who enjoy playing with people from Japan or other countries.

That wasn't my point, people seem to think that the servers are not global because they're telling us where the servers are located. If the servers were region locked then I would share your concern. Naming a server Global wont make the others any less so, it will just not tell you where this "Global" server is located. They might as well name it "You can join any of the other server but if you like to play with anyone all over the world pick this server"-server.

So your basically incredibly racist. FF is even a Japanese game ffs. I dont speak/read a single word of japanese but I manage to get into JP groups on a daily basis for 17/25min AV/CC's and garuda's simply by using google translate when im bored, a simple copy and paste takes like 5sec. I also thing the majority of your problem is the fact that the game has a very very low population.

The part that I find funny if im understanding you correctly, if your normal play time is in JP time, going to a regional server will not help you unless its a JP regional server, going to a NA or EU server when you have a JP play time, you will not fit into the prime time and you will have less people to play with.

People who want to play with people GLOBALLY will join the GLOBAL server.

It's a simple as that. People who want to play with people from around the globe will join the GLOBAL server.

People who want to play with NA people will play on an NA server.

Well yeah, but in terms of population a server denounced as global is going to have more of a global audience in it. That's all we want really.

I don't think you're racist either. Japanese spam can annoy me at times too, and the xenophobia, but it's worth it for the nice JP players you can meet.

I also enjoy seeing many different languages in the chat but what I meant in that post was that I play on a server where most of my gaming time in the game I play with people I don't understand and who usually don't understand me, and this game is all about communication. This might be fixed in 2.0 with more players starting up, but for people who have a specific time they can play the game on, having a server where that time is the prime time is a option we should have.

Even in FFXI which had more players this could sometimes become a problem, I could stand around doing nothing because my LS which was mostly NA wasn't online yet. But back then I could play all day and all night it wasn't such a big issue and I could live with it. But I'm older now and don't have the time to put on a MMO like I did back then. So the time I can put on it I would like to be able to do as much as possible.
