I don't think you understand.

People who want to play with people GLOBALLY will join the GLOBAL server.

It's a simple as that. People who want to play with people from around the globe will join the GLOBAL server.

People who want to play with NA people will play on an NA server.

People who want to play with EU people will play on an EU server.

I don't care where it's located, neither will people who want to play globally.

I understand what you mean and I'm not trying to argue against having a server named Global. I'm just saying that all the other servers are global as well, some seem to think that having servers in every region means people from different regions wont be able to play with each other and that's just not true.

Well yeah, but in terms of population a server denounced as global is going to have more of a global audience in it. That's all we want really.

I don't think you're racist either. Japanese spam can annoy me at times too, and the xenophobia, but it's worth it for the nice JP players you can meet.

I also enjoy seeing many different languages in the chat but what I meant in that post was that I play on a server where most of my gaming time in the game I play with people I don't understand and who usually don't understand me, and this game is all about communication. This might be fixed in 2.0 with more players starting up, but for people who have a specific time they can play the game on, having a server where that time is the prime time is a option we should have.

Even in FFXI which had more players this could sometimes become a problem, I could stand around doing nothing because my LS which was mostly NA wasn't online yet. But back then I could play all day and all night it wasn't such a big issue and I could live with it. But I'm older now and don't have the time to put on a MMO like I did back then. So the time I can put on it I would like to be able to do as much as possible.

I am one of many who has d/c issues quite often (not too often lately thanks god) and I have more issues at Italian (mine) prime-time due to many people being connected to the local provider I use (live in the countryside and Wi-Fi antenna provider is the only option for me atm).

So, I would like to try out the new European servers and check if, even at my prime-time, things are better due to shorter distances, otherwise I'd move to a NA server.... I actually play often early in the morning (late night US) or late at night (afternoon US), so I will find people to play with anyway. And that would be good for connection issues.... even now I have nearly zero problems staying connected at those times.


On a side note, I was hoping for a server infrastructure which would have let us play as we are used to right now, but somehow managing the lag-d/c issues... not my field so I don't even know if that would have been possible.

Like I mentioned in a reply earlier, SE will need to make server population distributions publicly visible.
-> Just so that we can choose servers based on how segregated it is. People like me will prefer a server with a more balanced distribution. Others might prefer a server with a more homogeneous setup.

I still dont see how a regional server would fix your issue if you cannot play with JP's, but you basically only play during JP hours, going to a JP server for the prime time... you couldnt talk to them apparently and a NA server wouldnt match your prime time, sounds like you would fit on a global server where ls's can function around the clock, kinda like the current situation, but it just needs more people in general for ls's to expand that way... and more non-8man content.

People need to learn to adjust to the time and environment or else they'll suffer and loose. If people segregate because they're given a choice then I don't believe SE is the one to blame. This way you will know who your real friends are and meet new ones and life goes on. (hopefully for the best)

You are aware that whe not all of your friends can pick your server it doesn't mean they aren't your real friends right? You could have also chose to Quit back when we have global servers, but you didn't did you?

I'm all for having servers that are labeled GLOBAL for players that want to play with people from all around the world... But I'm telling you now; when it happens, you have absolutely no right to complain about latency/lag.

I like playing with people across the globe but if that choice is up against lag-free gameplay - then I'm moving to an NA server.

As I said earlier in the thread, "You can have your cake and it eat it."
