let me see i played ffxi for 12-20 hours a day kept tabs on the 24 hour spawms played since ps2 launch. pop times 99% of the time was 12-6am eastern us time. so no not everyone had acess to them.
LOL @ mostly only 1 LS wanting HNMs back, also lol @ it being luck to claim NMs when there was packet bots out like XI-Claim, NASA and K2 that could claim around 90% of the time. HNMs that get left up to be kept into there own timezone? Haha, HNMs rarely went through timezones.
Been there done that, it was fun at the time and then got boring after awhile claiming everything.
If you want those D.Rings go back to FFXI where they have HN.... oh wait the gear on those are worthless now.
I'll take instances like Odin anyday, not everyone could kill him and he still gave the best sh!t at the time.

Good point.This is true. The thing with 21-24 hour NMs special was the fact it was easy to track their ToD (time of death) and show up the next day. If it was something like a 9 to 12 hour NM and you weren't there every 12 hours to see it killed then you would have no idea when to go back.
Making it even worse for people who have less time to invest.
I agree if i walk in a game and log in and see players having awesome gear and it take me only 10min to get it then it's pretty boring game for me then. Now if it take a few days or hard work to get then that something good to have i be walking around town all bad ass.
Thanks to wow this the type of players ppl have become they just don't want to meet a middle ground with anything they just want everything easy mode.

24 hour pop timers didn't make it harder and honestly making an item be required makes it not rare. As a game ages soon everyone will have all the "uberzleetzg3arz" so really its pointless to even say that. It wasn't that long till almost every other person you met either had black belt, ridill, joy toy, kirin osode, ohat, okote, destrorys. etc.
So why not just make the NM itself actually hard? Have enrage mode within 10 minutes, beast amount of health, and actual strategy that aren't us having a main tank for the boss and off-tank to man handle the mobs (I'm looking at you Mosshorn and goblins) while the casters spam heal and take little breaks having MP regenerate when out of combat.
I'm not saying my suggestions on that enrage mode should be put into action, but just throwing out some food for thought because honestly all NMs so far have been bread and butter fights.
The respawn is a matter of meta gaming hunting for the spot, it does not add into the equation that the NM fight itself is actually difficult.
You're literally fighting against luck and bots.
I should also note now that one thing I agree is the respawn timer right now is awfully too short between one another and would like to see them spread a little more by 3-4 hours. When the miracle occurs that this game actually gain a larger population, the current respawn timer might not seem a good idea.

I would really prefer to see upgradeable gear like the type you would get from Dynamis. You wanna talk about commitment? Forget forcing a large HNM linkshell to recruit their members for 2-5 hour shifts of doing nothing but watching a pop until you finally discover it's window so you can have a REMOTE chance of getting lucky and getting a pop over the other 10 HNM LSs and various other Claim bots. Taking a weapon and farming mats so that you can get through 8 leves of upgrades for some pimp end-game weapon = COMMITMENT.

I don't think anyone here is trying to say everything should be easy and pretty much handed out, there should be a challenge but a 21+ hour spawn shouldn't be part of it.I agree if i walk in a game and log in and see players having awesome gear and it take me only 10min to get it then it's pretty boring game for me then.
