If they have a log they can just reverse all sells of dawn drops back into seals - unlikey people were selling anything else. (Force an overflow into the GC max, so you'd probably get people with 400,000/50,000 seals).

I agree something needs to be done about the inflation that is and will continue to happen.

But taking peoples money who did indeed work hard for it would be a very sad day.

I know RMT's have been doing this with their alts - everyone gets 5K free seals from the Foundry Day guy. So basically they gave every rmt's plethra of alts ~1mil.

Do me a favor, learn what exploit means MMO wise, before spamming threads.
Get something to sell it to an NPC to make money is common in MMOs.

So just because u were lazy the last 2 years, all those who werent have to be set back to your level?
There are ppl who earned more than you, get over it or go back to singleplayer games

Spamming threads? I posted in one other thread, then made this one. I also haven't been lazy, I'm just not a 'hard core' player even though I play 6~8hr a day. I'm not asking everyone to be set back to 'my' level but there should be something against people who abused the Atomos event just to earn ridiculous amounts of gil in a short time.

With that in mind there should be a limit of say.. 10million per account (100 million currently) that should be allowed to transfer over. This hard cap would bleed out a lot of pointless gil gained from abusers of the Atomos event.
well here's the thing. there are some of us that are well over 100 mil who didn't bother with atomos. if you want to come up with an idea on punishing those that did the event over and over then mention something like rolling gil back to where it was before it went in. the problem there turns into what about people that used that gil to buy gear? do we get rid of everything everyone did for the last few weeks? do they just roll back characters to the day the event went in? where is a fair point that would punish people that spammed the exploit without hurting those that played the game correctly? if you could answer that question i'd be interested in listening.

i hate to say it, but there's not much they can do at this point because they allowed it to go on for too long to fix the damage caused by it. i had over 300mil when the event started and still have the same amount of gil, but i was running events and farming to upgrade my gear instead of atomos over and over. to say take characters back to before the event went in hurts the players that weren't abusing the event. like i said, it's the fault of yoshi for not getting this fixed long ago so we are pretty much stuck with the results by now.

    The best alternative:

Remove the gil that was flooded into the markets by those pawning dawn drops (the exploit). This would avoid punishing people who did not exploit it by imposing a cap or anything like that, and get rid the excess gil causing inflation.

It wasnt much shorter than other ways to obtain gil, and not even less annoying.
I bought dawn drops too after i had no (useful) items left to buy, but not because it was the best way to make gil, i did it because i did work on my Seals achievements which i had to spent seals for to earn new ones.

The money i made through this is a very small percentage of what i earned in the 2 years before and now someone like you is telling us most of it should be deleted just because u dont have that much.
Dont tell me its because u think it wasnt legit or something like that. Its because ur pissed that ppl have more than u.

In all those years of playing MMORPGs i NEVER used any bot program or tried to get an advantage out of Bugs/exploits and i dont let you call me an exploiter just because u were to lazy to use something SE KNEW about.

Its clearly said by Yoshi-P that they knew about this methods to make gil out of seals and that they just were surprised that ppl spent that much time on it to get a use out of it.

Your grouping everyone with over 100mil into the same category and assuming they all exploited to make money their money. If we go by your solution then i would have to lose money because others decided to take advantage of a mistake SE made. Also SE was well aware of what was happening, the first exploit thread showed up days ago, if they can ninja patch clusters, they could of easily fixed this too. Plus there are far more easier and quicker legit ways to make money in this game and easily reach over 100mil, should those people also be punished. I'm sorry but I'm not in favor of a solution that punishes me for the actions of others.

GG SquareEnix. Not the smartest move ever made.

That's true to everyone, I dont think Nel_Celestine was angry at people who have more gil

Any legitimate earner of gil wouldn't have to worry that much about this, only people who abused the Atomos event.
Any time something is taken from your account, regardless of legitimacy, does not take it lightly. I don't think gil hoarding on characters really effects the market, because if by playing a game heading for a change and saving your gil is a bad thing, I don't think spending tirelessly when an expansion is on the horizon is the smart thing either. If I were anyone, start saving your gil/get geared or level your jobs... Oh wait, that's what you do in all MMOs... (>^.^)>

She's angry at the exploit and the fact that people are criticizing her for proposing an idea to fix it, not that she has less gil than them. Requesting this thread be closed for the sake of avoiding anymore childish name-calling.

AMEN! I usually sit around 60mil doing LEGIT things, so far the onlything I exploit out of Atomos is anima, and that's because I'm lazy and dont like riding on a chocobo!~
