SE If they can remove the gil that was earned through the exploit then by all means do so, but i will not support a solution that punishes everyone for the action of some. Most of us who have been playing since original alpha/beta are well over 100m and we reached that amount long before Atomos was even added. Even now there are a number of ways to make gil faster and legit then Atomos.

How about this... if SE thinks the economy should be rolled back because of Atomos/Dawn Drops... they will do it in a way that only affects those players who participated in the event that way.
They shouldn't put an arbitrary limit on people's gil that they may have earned any other way
what do you think about the pepeol who already have over your 100 Million, not get because of atomos?...because your jalous and poor ur ready to take everyone money out. Money they made legit.....comon!!!with the exploit and the MASSIVE gil surge are a result, there should be a cap on gil per account going into 2.0 Yes people are going to get a reduction (9/10s) but there are people that have destroyed server economies with this exploit in their attempts to have the most gil / materials / etc. in 2.0 launch.
With that in mind there should be a limit of say.. 10million per account (100 million currently) that should be allowed to transfer over. This hard cap would bleed out a lot of pointless gil gained from abusers of the Atomos event.

I have said before I'm open to other suggestions. Please read the thread completely before quoting my opening post and replying solely to it.

Everything gets fixed over time in an MMO. But u wouldnt call the use of an ability an exploit/bug because it isnt well balanced and is getting fixed/nerfed, would you?
I dont say the incredible amount of gil/seals as reward were good but to call it an exploit is just wrong.
I dont call everyone an exploiter, just because they got 10+ million out of it while i didnt, too.
Most who do, are just pissed because they werent able to make a profit out of it (because they were lazy or busy).

I know we do not know the details of housing, but I expect a TON of gil will be removed from the game. We will need to buy our land from an NPC of some type. We also heard Yoshi say you will be able to purchase large tracks of land for an enormous amount of gil. Just because you don't know about the remedy yet does not mean there is not one. From what I have seen Yoshi has done a very good job turning this game round.

It's cool, all that gil they made off Atomos will filter it's way down into my pocket eventually. They will have more money to pay more for my products.

And then you get more money to spend on other people's things that are marked up. It's a vicious cycle that's going to put more money into people's pockets that shouldn't have originally been there.

I'm mostly self sufficient so not really. I think the most expensive thing I've ever bought was around 700k. I certainly won't be purchasing any "marked up" products that's for sure. I've put my relic quest on hold until V2 for this reason. Kinda expecting double melded gear prices to crash when the value of materia changes. Yoshi already hinted it might. I'd be undercutting like crazy right now if I owned any high value materia items.
