    Animations can get you killed.. just saying.. Activate Chaos thrust= 3 seconds second after you use Chaos Thrust.. plumes pop.. your still stuck in the animation for 2 seconds. By the time you got out of the animation, the plume is about to explode ( impossible chance of avoiding it.) Animation lock is just part of the problem, Server lag also plays its role.

    Everything plays its part, Animation lock/Server lag/bad connection on your own end. They Removed Animation lock, because it was becoming a major hassle with the primal fights.

    No. Poor client and server design can get you killed. I've yet to get killed by animations in any online game with an optimized client and server infrastructure.

    They could have gotten rid of the lock while retaining animations, also:

    plumes pop..
    Unless you're kiting Ifrit (Hard) for some reason, you should never be in a plume spot as it's pretty predetermined.

    Keyword I said "Can" get you killed, and "they all play a role" Animation lock is just "a fraction" of the problem. If they took out Animation lock, People would still have problems. but it make avoiding cracks easier. If they made the server top notch, Animation lock is all about "Timing your moves right" If you use a "long based animation" and cracks appear while still in a long animation.

    Depending on when you use your "Animation" and how long it takes for "X Enemy move" to go off, "can" keyword "Can" depict weather X Enemy Move, can hit you or not. However, if your good at "Timing" which seems to be the case with you, then Animation lock doesn't effect you that much. but for people that aren't hardcore, Animation lock "Can" become an issue.

    This is why you allow animations to be clipped. So you keep the beauty but don't let it lock you in place.

    You can activate new abilities and move no matter what's going on at the moment. This is what I'm advocating anyway, and can't understand why SE won't do it when it's clearly the best option. We see animation clipping in the rest of the successful MMO industry.
