    Implying people play IV-VII, and current generation Final Fantasy MMO for the same reasons.

    If SE released an MMO with the technical attributes of IV, it would attract completely different people, and a small part of the current target group of FFXIV.

    Nostalgia is one reason people do play the old games, but in those old games, their crappy vintage graphics didn't get in the way of gameplay the way it does in 1.0. Sorry, but kiss your crappy "grass" animations goodbye.

    I for one will happily bid farewell to the dumb message that "I can't cast while moving" after I've let my thumb off the key.

    They don't need to sacrifice transitional animation to character responses. They can well do the transitional animation when there are no further commands from the player, or else the animation will be canceled and move right away to the animation for the new user command.

    Reality does not have to conform to your conceptions. Aesthetically pleasing is in the eye of the beholder. Some of us just think it's 'grass', in the background, doesn't matter.

    movement animations play a big part
    Movement is Movement ( unless you want them to skip, roll, jump, trip and fall on a rock lol). And since they are changing the combo system to be only in "one direction.

    That makes it even less that movement isn't so much on the gameplay side ( though if your character doesn't move how would you play FFXIV:ARR) So in a sense your right, it is part of gameplay, but on the flip side of the coin Movement doesn't provide anything aside from getting to your destination.

    I respect your opinion though and I agree with one statement : " Let others Judge it individually" =)

    The animations were based on the almost "Tank" like controls and camera we have now. Trust me when you're zoomed out all the way to keep an eye on AoE's and all the ever elusive "fire" that you should stand out of, you won't worry about how your character can stop on a dime to turn
