It's more learning and using the marketplace to your advantage. Well now that I've maxxed out literally gotten every item from my 500,000 seals what am I gonna do with my seals? Might as well convert them...

SE should just allow for a seal to give swap with gil not being able to swap to seals but seals can go to gil.
The genuine simple solution is (since they are already craftable) don't sell Dawn Drops from grand company vendors. Remove them from the shop. All problems solved immediately.

I'm really annoyed by this if only because people are swamping in the gil that I have spent days earning. It makes all this leveling of crafts and gatherers I've done over months look pretty stupid. =/ All these people are getting an absolutely massive advantage. Will I take advantage of the same system? Maybe, but I need to get my last quests done so I can get my final rank, and I really want a Lt. Axe, and I really want the L50 crafting gear, so yeah. It's a shame that it's been allowed to continue to happen. I'd have rathered they made seals continue to be easy to get like they were in the first place, which was clearly the intention. But the gil, I don't think that was the intention at all, and it's something I consider pretty offputting when it comes to the game's economy. This whole escapade wouldn't be bad at all if it weren't for the fact that crafters are still undercutting each other by stupid amounts (RMT? I don't know, just the mind boggles when people with stupid Aaaaaaaaaaa retainer names sell things for 40k when the previous lowest price was 100k). This means despite there being a huge amount of gil, crafters still can't get a hold of it unless they just submit to the same system people are using now - Dawn Drops, the new game that has taken over the economy of Final Fantasy XIV.
