What standard? The imaginary one in your head? Last I heard, SE set their own standards for their own games. They have their own goals for FFXIV. FFXIV is a substandard MMO... by SE's own standards.
The one Yoshi and his team keep talking about.
The one they used to redesign the interface.
The one they used to add features like quick group.
The one they used to focus on the 'themepark' style.
Interface works perfectly in this standart => keep them
Quick group is a bad idea i agree with you
FF11 was a theme park , 1.0 was also one , don't see what they would change these .
I'm already saying I'm cool with the UI standard, I'm just pointing out to Hear No Evil that Yoshi himself said he's trying to bring it to the 'MMO standard'
Thanks, now point to me where it says that this change is connected to the MMO standard.
Because frankly, I don't see it.
From your own link:
And so Final Fantasy XIV lives on, but the game is almost unrecognizable. The visuals have been greatly improved, powered as they are by a new graphics engine, which Yoshida says needed to be as impressive as possible, thanks to the long life span of the MMO. The animation engine has been overhauled too, with the niggling lag that made the game feel so sluggish now eliminated.
Majority of the overall market > majority of a XIV forum thread infested with people completely full of themselves.
The minorities are usually the loudest, and that would completely describe what is happening in this thread.
@Hiir- I would just ignore it. After reading the majority of the responses that the loudest few in this thread post, you know that it's more about what they think it has to be like, and then block off everything else.
