It is not the same Elexia, don't be stupid.
If you want to please (and by please, I mean troll) JPs, shout in English using Japanese phonetics and written in Katakana.

That won't troll us, just fyi -- Also in my example since Babydoll was pretty much referring to my post earlier it is pretty much the same thing; You'll have a Japanese person shouting in Japanese then add 'JP only', they're seeking for people who can speak Japanese, this is the case the majority of the time, much like you have players who will shout for BLMs only for encounters that people even used to stack Lancers for (Ifrit) -- It's just stating what your preference is. Some videos from Japanese players show them clearing Garuda hard with varied setups, but you take a step to NA/EU videos, you'll primarily see BRDs and BLMs, you'll rarely if at all ever see DRGs or MNKs.
If you can't see the similarity it's not a case of having or not having intelligence, it's missing the point.

Read through this thread, interesting issue. My opinion is that, frustrating as being kicked is, if someone has taken the time to create and build a Party then it's their call who stays and goes.

Sure it is, like how they're shouting in Japanese isn't enough to state their preference. They take the time/effort to type out JP Onry in ENGLISH. Also the word "only" kinda takes away from your "I would prefer JP" theory. It's just stating what your preference is.
I can understand in the case of Garuda and other endgame content. But for SB parties and stuff all you need are bodies. Kicking someone from that casual of content just being obtuse. Besides, being JP is so easily faked that you have to wonder why they even bother. Is it just that they don't wan to see the english letters on their screen? You don't have to be JP or speak JP to communicate in this game in Japanese. Especially for SB parties.
I've never been able to clear Garuda with BLM/BRD set up. I don't think it really works. Some videos from Japanese players show them clearing Garuda hard with varied setups, but you take a step to NA/EU videos, you'll primarily see BRDs and BLMs, you'll rarely if at all ever see DRGs or MNKs.

And yet a lot (if not most) people capped off on Garuda weapons when you could BLM burn her and the only change they did was make sure her 2hr triggers no matter what.
FFXIV: A Realm of Geopolitical Bickering.
You only have to have a clueless german tank or a jp whm that doesnt get gather together to understand the main motivation for preferring communication.
Sorry to interrupt your political discourses.

When you get asked "Can you speak (Language)" in Japanese it generally translates to "Can you speak Japanese Language?" What you seem to not be understanding is Japanese =/= English, therefore a lot of interpretations are different -- English is much more open-ended where you can interpret things in multiple ways as you're doing here, however 'JP Only' generally means preferring people who can speak Japanese. As with everything there's exceptions, however with the people I run with who says it are referring to speaking it. Also quit with the "Onry" stuff, you honestly don't even see it, you don't even see it in the OP's Image, so if anything you're just furthering a generalization that doesn't exist most of the time, just because of the way the language is, you'll hear it, but rarely will you see it typed out -- Even native Japanese make fun of those who end up writing out certain words with an r.
So you're basically saying it's ok for one but not ok for anything else? You do know people can have preference for anything and everything, right? What if the leader was german and wanted only people who can speak the same language in their party? Would you raise the same stink over it?I can understand in the case of Garuda and other endgame content. But for SB parties
Once again "JP Only" generally refers to wanting people who can speak Japanese. It's not stating "Japanese person only". During XI's prime you even had someone interview a lot of Japanese players and the majority were referring to just that, so few were actually saying "no thank (NA/EU) person." The problem is very few people actually take the time to try to communicate in Japanese, they expect everyone to communicate in English -- I wouldn't have even bothered with English if it wasn't required for the international business world. Is it just that they don't wan to see the english letters on their screen? You don't have to be JP or speak JP to communicate in this game in Japanese. Especially for SB parties.

Believe what you want, Jennestia. But I won't expect you to speak English, if you don't expect me to speak Japanese. I have no preference.
When I join, say an SB party like here, I want SB'ed weapons. If you can do that, I don't care if you prefer Esperanto. I'll gladly translate my English into it for you.
JP On(l)y? Haaaaai....
