North American release was NOT launchI still don't get your point. When I first started playing the north american release:
Can't say for certain if BCNMs were in the game at the time or not, as I quit playing for several months for personal reasons unrelated to my enjoyment of the game.
- I could find a party to exp with.
- I could do my outpost supply quests.
- I could do my missions.
- I could do my chocobo license quest.
- I could do my kazham quest (or save up gil to buy the airship pass)
- I could do scroll quests.
- I could build up conquest points for conquest items.
Yah, we have quests in FFXIV... that give what exactly? Junk? Yah, what fun!
Yah, we have faction credits in FFXIV... that give what exactly? NM guildleves that give disappointing endgame gear? Yah, what fun!
Most of this stuff took a long-ass time to do too, which made it much more rewarding in the end.
in 14, we are at launch, there is a HUGE difference between the 2
FF11 when you started playing was already an established game with a full expansion out

Sure, and if SE doesn't get it's sh** together for FFXIV by the end of the year, there'll be no excuse.
i dont have any doubt they will have everything in place, and up to par of what 11 had when its first expansion comes out in the same timeframe
but we are still a year away from the timeframe, and we know they are working on stuff, yet people still are so impatient they act as if it has to be in now
people want an 8 year old game on day 1, and i think thats where the problem is, people are unrealistic for the most part
thats not saying they coulda released it in a better state, we already know they coulda, but expectations woulda been higher then they coulda met regardless and people woulda still complained
