    GW2 does it nicely.
All areas have a level cap.
You get drops based on YOUR real level; not area level.
Your party auto level ups/down based on area and level difference.
You don't lose skills from higher levels; they just scale down/up in effectiveness

    Yeah? lol

GW2 effectively killed high level's clearing out zones for farming; since even if your 80 you get bumped down to 6 in the first zones.

If your to low in party and your in a higher level area; you get bumped up. But you only get drops for something around your current level; not to far below; not to far above.

It's really a nice take on it.

It also means you don't need to power-level since you can enjoy ALL content at any level; just means your less effective if you haven't got the skills.

This is what i don't want i played my friend char on GW2 and i don't like having my lvls removed its stupid. Don't lvl me down cause i wanna walk thru a lvl 10 area.

About lvl sync if it works like XI and i can choose what player i want to sync my lvl too then i'm fine with that and if i can take it off at will, that is a big bonus.

oh god thats a most horrible thing, that could happen to a rpg...

you want to progress, you want to feel more powerul.. so getting back to a lv 10 zone and kill monsters which have been very dangrous for you when you have been lv 10.

Do you want ever to feel like a adventure beginner, or some day like a hero who got stronger? i dont like it, when mobs level up with you automatically... even in single rpgs..

wasnt it Oblivion or Gothic 3 where the mobs levled with you? it was horrible.. and much disliked from the community. that GW2 does this new, doesnt make it better.

Ehhhh not really, you are still powerfull even thou they did scale you down....

in Gw2, the first map area max level is 4, when i was level 4 is still tough to fight multiple monster at once, but when im high level and my level scale down to 4, i can easily tank multiple monster at once, compare to when im level 4 it self, but it does scale, i do not one shot a monsters *except critters lol* i like it that way.

only your base stats scale, stats from gear are still applied which is why you are so powerful

This is so that I can play with lower level players and re-experience the content and enjoy myself. But I also want to be given the option to power through something if I choose to do so, which would mainly be things like farming for items etc.
This is the point of level-sync essentially. I started up FFXI again recently so that I could duo with a friend to 99 so I could go back and do all the story stuff I never got done. He had to start over from scratch, so I level-synced with him once he made it to level 10, and he went from 10-20 within the course of a couple nights playing a couple hours each night.

What I don't want to see, and I think most people agree, is having level caps forced down your throat for everything like in CoP in FFXI. People should have the option of doing content at a higher level even though it's meant for a lower level. I like the idea of doing some things at level, but others just want to get it done and over with.

If I correctly interpreted what was said at the 25th anniversary presentation for FF14, it sounds like all major story content will have level caps in place. I know some people in my LS that are going to be less than thrilled with this, and may even stop playing the game because of it. I think their idea is, "I have all these max level characters, why does my power have to be reduced to experience this part of the game?" and I can see their reasoning.

I want to experience challenging content, but I don't think creating level caps is the way to go about it.
