SE know they need something big to pull in the crowds as the current player base isn't anywhere near what they want. The best way to do that will be with a huge PS3 launch and they know that. Yeah it sucks for us playing now but iris the best way to ensure the future of the game.

It's all about the wow factor (not world of Warcraft). They could give us Chocobo's in one update, give us airships in another, some missions in another and so on. Each update will generate a little bit of hype and get people interest sure but it won't be enough and as we aren't paying monthly at the min it's pointless for them.

It would be far better from a business stance to save as much as they can and launch it all in at once with the PS3 launch. It will look far better and generate more hype if they can launch and say here we go you have Chocobo's, airships, new missions, quests, new battle system, new classes, new weapons, new zones, new cities and so on. Doing that would also bring back a lot of the PC players as well so it's win win for them if they can pull it off.

Pretty sure they care about one of their larger Japanese playing bases too.

Honestly I'm just mad that their probably going to charge us for the expansion, while there probably just going to box it with the original for the ps3 release.

So I paid $70 for the original game and then probably will have to pay between $30 to $60 for the expansion. While the ps3 people will probably only have to pay $30 to $60 for both of them together and not have to go through the month of torment from the game being broken.

I don't think that's fair in the least, but that's probably what's going to happen -_-

The same can be said fo FF XI, since in the west we had it after one year after launch in japan with a expansion packed up

We get to play longer, level up more, and get one hell of a free ride, so fair enough for me.

How is it not fair? We're not "owed" an expansion or anything. Of course they'll box it with the PS3 release if its made and released by then since it makes sense. I didn't bitch that I had to buy Rise of Zilart separate from Final Fantasy XI and the Americans got it for free.

You, as a customer, made a poor investment, and that is not up to SE to fix.

You got exactly what you bought, and to this day the service has been down for only two weeks. Square-Enix did not lie to you, you chose to be an uninformed customer and bought a shitty game. It's your fault, not theirs. Your expectations aren't worth crap.

"Hey, I expected that this TV could go back in time but it didn't! I want my money back!"

"Hey, Sony, your TV's have always been good but this one isn't for some reason! I could have waited for reviews to come out but I bought it anyway! This is your fault, Sony!"

    You disgust me.
You're missing the point. No one is asking for SE to give them a refund. No one is arguing customer rights here. The point in saying "i paid $70 for this" is to say that we paid full retail price or premium retail price to a company that has marketed a product in a way that doesn't truly reflect it's content. It's not a matter of fraud, it's a matter of betraying their customers. They won't lose the 70$ for a refund, but if they fail to get the game to an at least vaguely satisfactory state they will lose us as customers.

After being disappointed with FFXII i didn't buy FFXIII. After trying it out at a rental i realized my decision was correct. I will never buy a SE product blindly as i would have done years before with a Square product. Even my current FFXIV account isn't something i paid for, but was gifted to me.

It's perfectly legitimate to be disappointed seeing how SE decided to charge full price for a product they knew wasn't ready. It is also the reason why the game is free to play now. SE is telling us they will deliver what we paid for and what we are expecting to see as customers, even though they have no direct legal obligation to do so.

I hope you finally get it.

And once again, this is what you get for blindly assuming "It has FF in it, it must be good" instead of waiting for reviews to come out.

the fact that we can't do this anymore is a sign that something is very wrong.
