I liked it in 11 where People could switch jobs but it took 6 months to cap a job, so we still had a situation where 80% of people had 2 jobs cap'ed at most (when i played anyway) so essentially people still had thier identity as the OP described.

Yes, i love the fact that i can be any class i want on one character, but at the same time i prefered it in 11 where everyone wasnt every class.

whats done is done anyway and i dont think its something that can be changed for 2.0 so theres not really any point discussing it.

Even if people have more then one job most of them suck at everything besides 1-3 jobs. Like myself i play DRG,BLM,BRD,MNK but i best at DRG and MNK and i'm on my last step for monk relic so monk is my main and DRG is my sub the only reason i use BLM/BRD is because the game me for ruda as bard and BLM for CC/AV if i could just use DRG or MNK i just use them 24.7 this can be fix by just not allowing us to switch jobs.

I think that what yoshi-p doing in 2.0 i hope crystal towers does not allow you to switch jobs like H.D
