If I remember right Strength raised your damage range whilst Attack would raise the chance of hitting higher numbers within that range.

Right now in Hydaelyn Strength is used until it hits cap as it contributes more damage than Attack for melee classes (besides Archer?) and Attack Power is stacked after capping both Strength and your other damage stat (such as Piety for Dragoon).
I can understand the interest from a min-maxers point of view, i think it might have worked better in FFXI as you were able to gear swap, without gear swapping i think it effects this kind of system in a negative way.. but im not saying there should be gear swapping lol.

i think we got off topic a little.. make stats worth while first and then we can argue about this lol.
