If they wanted Ifrit and mog to work like Garuda, it would have been done.
I had gotten Mog bow early, maybe 3rd run. An LS mate had been after it for ages, somewhere around 100+ runs i'm sure. I felt so bad that my second class to 50 changed to archer, just so it wouldnt sit in my retainer forever. The "cool" feeling of getting a drop didn't least nearly as long as my sadness that my LS mate. despite so many attempts, didn't get it.
They gave me Grats, but you know insides they we're getting frustraited. This shouldn't be the reactions people get from a game, especially after doing content 100+ times.
Some folks have said without low drop rates no one would do it any more. But i would wager it would be alot easier to get a group for something if people weren't burned out from "having" to do it so much. Hamlet is a fair example.
The count of LS members who ever want to go near a Hamlet again has dwindled. in part because to start their relic quest, they had to do so many with no idea of how many they would need. Which do you think is easier to convince?
The person who did it X amount of times, had a fair idea of how many it would take, and maybe got a lucky drop here and there. And is done.
Of the person who keeps doing it, with no taniable end in sight, and when finally done, feels liberated that they never have to do that content again?
I heard way more "I'm finally free of Hamlet" than "i finally got all my seals" as the first words when someone finished.
Pure RNG extends content at a price. Sometimes the price is anyone who wasn't done with the first wave. Its often hard enough to get a group for older content, i see no reason to make it even harder.
Myself, the LS had a moogle party that was STUPIDLY lucky one night. Everyone (except one guy ; ; so sorry man) got 1-3 weapons. I count myself lucky when i got 2, and have no real interest in it now. Ifrit is stingy on me, and am losing interest there too. (Zero Ifrit weaps) But i'm taking a pass on it before i'm so burned out on it that i won't help otheres do it once in a while.
People not doing it cause its not new is different than people not doing it cause it makes them sick, or makes them recall a level of frustration they have no interest in remembering.
