Theres been a couple more recent ones about Summoners would get something like carbuncle. but he was not commital enough to leave use guessing.

What i would say is theres not much need to lay groudwork for a pet type class if there won't be one. Unless we want to assume something even more radical, that being one of our current classes/jobs will become pet users?
Yeah, I figured they will be adding one. I'm just warning that one guy not to get his hopes up about the specifics yet, because no official statements have been made.

If as you guys are suggesting he said in an interview that smns will be getting stuff like carbuncle, it sounds like they are just thinking about giving SMN a bunch of conceptually week summons... which is a huge disappointment to me. Talk about cheapening the experience. A SMN who can just summon carbuncle, cait sith, moogles, etc would be pretty lame.
